Publication number: 20230243692Abstract: Surface acoustic wave (SAW) weighing apparatus and related methods are provided for measuring weight of a load employing a displaceable elastic member that is displaced by the load. A piezoelectric SAW transducer is coupled to the elastic member. The piezoelectric transducer along with an amplifier electrically coupled thereto form a delay line oscillator circuit that is configured to generate an oscillating signal in response to displacement of the elastic member by the weight of the load. A magnet is spaced from a Hall effect sensor. The magnet produces a magnetic field, and the Hall effect sensor is configured to measure strength of the magnetic field which is related to displacement of the elastic member and the weight of the load. Circuitry generates frequency data that characterizes frequency of the oscillating signal. The frequency data is related to displacement of the elastic member and the weight of the load.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 6, 2021Publication date: August 3, 2023Applicant: Circuits & Systems, Inc.Inventor: Arnold GORDON

Patent number: 11320298Abstract: Apparatus and related methods are provided in a surface acoustic wave (SAW) scale for measuring weight of a load. A processor reads a first frequency of a SAW delay line operating in a first mode. A push oscillator injects a frequency similar to but different than the first frequency in order to cause the SAW delay line to operate in a second mode, and the processor reads a second frequency of the SAW delay line operating in the second mode. A difference between the frequencies is calculated and compared to values in a stored table to determine the first mode at which the SAW delay line was operating. Based on a determination of the first mode and the first frequency, the weight of the load is determined. This determined weight can be used to recalibrate an auxiliary weight sensor.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2020Date of Patent: May 3, 2022Assignee: Circuits & Systems, Inc.Inventor: Vyacheslav D. Kats

Patent number: 10788358Abstract: Apparatus and related methods are provided for automatically recalibrating a SAW scale for changing environmental factors. During a period of time when there is no change to a weight applied to the scale, readings of SAW transducers which relate to weight indications and environmental factor indications are taken for two adjacent operating modes of the scale, and two calibrated weight calculations are made utilizing those readings. The difference in calibrated weight calculations is then related to a variable utilized to transform the readings into weights, which is updated, thereby recalibrating the scale.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2018Date of Patent: September 29, 2020Assignee: Circuits & Systems, Inc.Inventor: Vyacheslav D. Patent number: 8218448Abstract: The integrity of a control network for providing reliable communications between different entities is verified. Such a verified control network may be included in a device, system, or design library. The verification of a control network includes, but is not limited to: physically exercising the control network itself and/or its design via modeling, analysis, and/or applying or using other testing or design verification methodologies. For example, a Petri net model of the control network may be analyzed to verify that the control signals cannot be generated which could interfere with each other, that a deadlock condition cannot be reached, and that a control signal on an input port will result in a control signal on an output port, albeit possibly delayed.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2010Date of Patent: July 10, 2012Assignee: Blended Integrated Circuit Systems, LLCInventors: Jerome R. Publication number: 20060141862Abstract: Upon releasing a locking arm from a connecting terminal by inserting a jig through a front holder, the jig could not be erroneously inserted into a terminal inserting hole. Connecting terminals 15 are inserted into a housing 11, and the connecting terminals are prevented from being pulled out of the housing backwardly by means of locking arms 13 arranged above the respective connecting terminals 15. The front holder is engaged with the housing by a clamping mechanism in an axial direction and is movable laterally in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction. A pair of a terminal inserting hole 17 and an arm operating hole 18 provided for respective connecting terminals are shifted laterally. In a first position of the front holder 16, the terminal inserting hole 17 is aligned with an axial line of a female-type connecting terminal 15, but the arm operating hole 18 is shifted laterally from the locking arm.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 11, 2003Publication date: June 29, 2006Applicant: RYOSEI ELECTRO-CIRCUIT SYSTEMS, LTD.Inventors: Yukifumi Machida, Shinji Yamaguchi, Yoshikazu Tanaka, Takayuki Higuchi

Publication number: 20060057901Abstract: Even in the case of a bar-like small terminal connection, its strength is retained. In (a), a strip (21) made, for example, of a thin metal sheet having a thickness of 0.2 mm and a predetermined width is collapsed by rolling to a thickness of 0.16 mm as in (b). Subsequently, as in (c), the longitudinal opposite sides (22, 23) of the strip (21) are erected with respect to the base plate (24), then inwardly bent, as in (d), and folded onto the base (24), as in (e). Further, the folded opposite sides (22, 23) are erected together with the base plate (24) into a closely contacted state, whereupon as in (f), the folded body is mechanically compressed from all sides into a form having a 0.64-mm square cross section.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2003Publication date: March 16, 2006Applicant: RYOSEI ELECTRO-CIRCUIT SYSTEMS, LTD.Inventors: Yukifumi Machida, Yoshikazu Tanaka, Hiroshi Ikagawa
