  • Patent number: 6762906
Abstract: A disk drive device includes a protective case having an upper case and a lower case. The disk drive device has a form such that the disk drive device can be inserted into and removed from a PCMCIA port of a computer. The disk drive device has an output connector located at one end of the protective case so that the input/output connector can connect with a PCMCIA connector of the computer when the disk drive device is inserted in the PCMCIA port. Information from the computer can thus be stored on the disk drive device, or information from the disk drive device can be read into the computer.

  • Patent number: 6747844
Abstract: If a floppy disk (200) is inserted into a disk drive unit, a link member (52) rotates due to the movement of the floppy disk (200), and a slide piece (61) recedes from under a projecting piece (131) of an upper head support arm (121). In consequence, the distal end of the upper head support arm (121) descends, so that an upper head which is mounted on the distal end of the upper head support arm approaches a lower head which is mounted on the distal end of a lower head support arm.

  • Patent number: 6644875
Abstract: Before stopper members (25) of a skew correcting mechanism (10) are evacuated from a sheet conveyor path, sheet conveyor roller pairs (8) rotate a set angle in a direction opposite to the sheet feeding direction such that a sheet is separated from the stopper members (25). The sheet conveyor roller pairs (8) are arranged so that at least one of the rollers of each pair is independently pressed against the other with a force corresponding to the type of the sheet.

  • Patent number: 6452741
Abstract: A frame plate (19) is mounted to the inside of a case (4) of a magnetic recording device. (1), and a disk drive motor and a head body (5) are mounted to the frame plate (19). A member (88) for preventing the deformation of the case is provided between the case (4) and the frame plate (19). The member (88) is placed in a cartridge passing area by the action of a spring in the absence of the cartridge (2), but the member (88) is pressed with the front end of the cartridge (2) when the cartridge (2) is moved forward, the member (88) is forced to retreat to the outside of the cartridge passing area.

  • Patent number: 6021097
Abstract: An analog-type electronic watch with an electrical generating apparatus, this watch having a load compensation function means, and completing avoiding the adverse influence of magnetic noise which accompanying electrical generation operation. This watch has an electrical generator which operates intermittently, an electrical generation detection means which detects electrical generation by the electrical generator based on a prescribed relationship to the operation of a drive judging means, and a control means which, when the driving judging means detects electrical generation by the electrical generator, supplies a compensation drive pulse to a drive circuit, regardless of the judgment results of the driving judging means.

  • Patent number: 5986311
Abstract: A gate oxide film is formed on a thin-film SOI substrate or on a single crystalline silicon substrate and a gate is formed on the gate oxide film. The surfaces of a single crystalline silicon at diffusion layer regions on opposite sides of the gate are cleaned and an amorphous silicon film is formed thereon and on the side walls of the gate. Impurity ions are implanted in the amorphous silicon film, which is then converted into recrystallized silicon films by annealing. An interlayer insulator film is formed and another annealing is conducted. As a result, impurity ions in the recrystallized silicon films diffuse into the diffusion layer region of the single crystalline silicon and are activated to form a source and a drain.

  • Patent number: 5626425
Abstract: An electronic thermometer for measuring body temperature has a temperature sensor for detecting a sensed temperature and for producing an output indicative of the sensed temperature and a temperature rise detector for detecting whether the sensed temperature is rising. If the sensed temperature is rising, the temperature rise detector produces a temperature rise signal. The thermometer is provided with circuitry for generating an audible signal in response to the temperature rise signal. The device thus audibly indicates that the sensed temperature is rising and that the temperature measurement is proceeding normally. The temperature sensor includes a thermosensitive oscillator, the oscillating frequency of which changes depending on a change in its temperature, and a reference oscillator for generating a reference signal. A temperature counter counts an output signal from the thermosensitive oscillator on the basis of the reference signal.

  • Patent number: 5313691
Abstract: A buckle for a watch band has a housing connected to the watch band, a pair of push plates provided in the housing so as to be moved in a lateral direction, and a pair of springs for urging the push plates. A pair of stopper pins are provided for stopping the push plates urged by the springs. A cover having a lock pin is pivotally connected to an end of the housing. The cover is provided such that the lock pin is inserted into an opening of the housing and engaged with hooks of the push plates. An opening spring is provided between the housing and the cover for urging the cover to an open position.

  • Patent number: 5013169
Abstract: An improved print head for a dot matrix printer is provided. The printing is performed by wires projecting from said print head. The movement of the wires is controlled by the movement of armatures which contact an armature base. The construction of the base from a liquid crystal polymer or an aromatic series polyester resin results in improved vibration damping which in turn results in quieter printer operation.

  • Patent number: 4785297
Abstract: A drive circuit for producing scanning pulses to successively select row or column conductors of a matrix display device of the type having an active element provided for each display element in the matrix, the drive circuit comprising a shift register made up of a set of cascade-connected master-slave flip-flops, with both the master outputs and the "slave" outputs being utilized to form the scanning pulses. The number of flip-flop stages required is reduced by 1/2, by comparison with prior art drive circuits using master-slave flip-flops, and the frequency of the clock pulse signal required to drive the shift register is 1/2 of that required in the case of a prior art circuit.

  • Patent number: 4746915
Abstract: A drive circuit for sequentially driving electrodes of a matrix display device such as a liquid crystal display panel comprises a shift register divided into a plurality of groups of shift register stages and means for selectively applying a first clock signal and a second signal to the groups of stages, so that the groups become successively operative and so that power consumption of the currently inoperative groups is minimized. The second signal can comprise a low-frequency refresh clock signal, in the case of a dynamic type of shift register, or a DC potential in the case of static-type shift registers. During changeover between adjacent groups of shift register stages, the first clock signal is applied simultaneously to both groups, in order to ensure stable operation.
