In particular, the invention relates to a composition comprising N-carbamoylputrescine (NCP). The invention further relates to the non-therapeutic use of N-carbamoylputrescine (NCP) to enhance muscle protein synthesis in a subject. Moreover, the invention also relates to N-carbamoylputrescine for its use as a medicament.
