    Abstract: Product, method and apparatus for producing separated components from scum are taught. The separated component is a vegetable-based oil or animal-based oil comprising principally stearic and linoleic acid. The method comprises the steps of collection or harvesting of the scum, heating of the scum, grinding in a low speed unit, filtering through a screen, vibrating or preferably centrifuging and odor control of the scum.
