Abstract: An automated system and a method are described for providing a personalized set and stream of content from the system to a user of an end-user device. The content may include multiple items of various sorts and media types, including textual items, video, audio and/or proprietary or composite content elements that originate from various sources. The content may be consumed by the end-user or by multiple applications on behalf of the end-user, whether on an end-user device or on a server for further processing. The system filters the content made available to end-users in a manner unique to each end-user. Filtering is based on characteristics associated with the content element, the originating source and author, and unique preferences relevant to the end-user. Filtering can be done in real time or be based on prior processing.
