Abstract: A pipe clamp assembly for joining joint or pipe ends of different diameter in a clamping relationship, which clamp assembly comprises a flexible clamping band which surrounds the ends of the pipe or joint to be joined, a polymeric circumferential, thin sealing gasket beneath the clamping band and a polymeric circumferential transition coupling within the sealing gasket, the transition coupling having grooves on the exterior surface to engage sealing beads on the interior surface of the sealing gasket, to form a sealing relationship between the exterior surface of the transition coupling and the interior surface of the sealing gasket, and circumferential sealing beads on the interior surface of the transition coupling, to form a sealing relationship with the exterior surface of the reduced diameter joint or pipe to be sealed, thereby providing a clamp assembly adapted to clamp together pipes or joint ends of different diameters.
Abstract: A pipe clamping assembly is provided with an improved first and second encircling ends on a sheet metal clamping band so as to provide upward and reversely extending end sections each having an inwardly directed flange positioned to extend toward an underlying pipe and act in conjunction with the clamping band to prevent unwanted movement of an underlying sealing gasket under operating conditions of the pipe clamping assembly. In one embodiment, the ends are slotted to allow for adjustment to inexact contours while in another embodiment, the band is unslotted providing greater rigidity for use with pipes of consistently repeatable defined circumference.
Abstract: A pipe-clamping device for coupling together in an end-to-end relationship identical pipe ends, which device comprises a clamping band to encircle the pipe ends, the band having a plurality of slots therein on each side extending generally axially to the coupled pipes, a raised edge means on each edge and a raised central section to define a longitudinally extending band-strap-retaining area; a sealing gasket disposed beneath the clamping band; and band straps disposed on the band-strap-retaining area on either side of the central raised section, the band straps adapted to compress the clamping band into a sealing relationship about the pipe ends.
