Abstract: A vehicle external recognition extracts a feature point from an image including an environment around a vehicle; measures a distance from the vehicle to the feature point based on a movement of the feature point; extracts, as a first road surface area, a local area judged as a road surface based on distance information to the feature point and a position of the feature point in the image from among a plurality of local areas in the image; calculates a multi-dimensional image feature amount including color information for each of the plurality of local areas, and similarity to the first road surface area using the image feature amount with respect to a no-road-surface-extracted area(s) from among the plurality of local areas; extracts a second road surface area from the no-road-surface-extracted area(s) based on the similarity; and recognizes a travelable area using the first and the second road surface areas.

Abstract: A frequency compressor of a vibration output apparatus generates a compressed signal by converting frequency components of a mid-band signal into low-band frequency components of a low-band signal by increasing the total number of samples by a factor of n and thus compressing the frequency of amplitude information included in mid-band frequency components of the mid-band signal to 1/n. If the level of a low-band envelope signal is lower than a predetermined threshold level, a vibration signal generator generates a vibration signal by combining the compressed signal with the low-band signal consisting of the low-band frequency components of an acoustic signal. If the level of the low-band envelope signal is higher than the predetermined threshold level, the vibration signal generator generates a vibration signal by directly using the low-band signal. A vibration output unit outputs a vibration on the basis of the generated vibration signal.
Abstract: An inter-vehicle communication and driving assistance device performs wireless communication with other vehicles, and includes an inter-vehicle communication unit including a reception level detection unit, a position information reception unit, and an arithmetic processing unit. The arithmetic processing unit calculates inter-vehicle distances to other vehicles using latitude and longitude information of the other vehicles and the own vehicle, receives a position error radius, and acquires a reception level from the other vehicles. When a difference between the inter-vehicle distances is smaller than position error radius, a vehicle with a larger reception level is determined as a vehicle closer to the own vehicle. When the difference between the inter-vehicle distances is larger than the position error radius, a vehicle with a smaller inter-vehicle distance is determined as a vehicle closer to the own vehicle, and a distance to a leading vehicle is calculated.
Abstract: A guide route matching with the characteristic of vehicle control is searched to reduce the frequency at which re-search of a guide route is executed. A navigation device includes an information input unit for acquiring a control condition for controlling the traveling of the vehicle as control characteristic information from an autonomous driving control device, and a route searching unit for searching a guide route for the vehicle satisfying the control condition based on the control characteristic information acquired by the information input unit. Accordingly, the guide route matching with the control characteristic of the vehicle can be searched.
