    Abstract: A mechanical switching apparatus has a housing (1) which contains a ball (5) supported in a retainer (4). A control lever (2) projects radially from the input side of the ball (5) and is rigidly fixed so that, together with the ball (5), two rotational movements can be made along axes (19, 24) which are perpendicular to each other and pass through the mid-point (6) of the ball (5). On the output side, two separate transmission elements (13, 23) are provided which consist of pins and whose axes (14, 24) lie parallel to each other.
