    Abstract: An end cap and filter element incorporating the same is provided. In one embodiment, the filter element includes a top end cap and a bottom end cap. The top end cap having a ring-shaped well that is defined along its bottom side and a rectangular flange projecting upward along its top side. The top end cap further comprising a rectangular gasket disposed proximate to the rectangular flange of the top end cap and contained within the rectangular flange of the top end cap. The bottom end cap is a closed end cap and is spaced below the top end cap. The filter element further comprises a ring of filter media. The filter media is bonded with the ring shaped well of the top end cap and the closed bottom end cap.

    Abstract: A lube oil filter housing including a tubular outer shell, a pair of covers, an inlet, an outlet, a clean fluid chamber and a filter element support is provided. The tubular outer shell and pair of covers define an internal cavity. A clean fluid chamber is interposed fluidly between an inlet and an outlet within the internal cavity. The clean fluid chamber includes at least one connection site for sealingly connecting with a filter element. The clean fluid chamber has at least one removable cover to provide access to a clean fluid portion defined by the clean fluid chamber. A removable filter element support is configured to support an end of the filter element opposite the end of the filter element that cooperates with the connection site. The outlet may include a removable connection tube removable from the tubular outer shell to provide access to the clean fluid portion.

    Abstract: A filter for applications such as a lube filter for a large medium speed diesel engine application lube system is provided in which the open end cap carries three different seals including two radial seals that seal radially against a stem pipe in an axial abutment face and a seal gasket that seals against a mounting face of the housing. One of the radial seals is more reliable than the other while the other of the radial seals acts as a redundant backup and safety in the event that there is an improper installation or damage to the other seal as a result thereof.
