Patent number: 5887703Abstract: Method for distributing material over the width of a conveying grate. In order to induce the material to flow off from a width section (6, 11) onto a second width section (7, 8), the first width section is operated at a lower speed of advance than the second (7, 8). In addition, braking or a smaller conveying length can be provided in the first width section (6, 11), as compared with the second (7, 8). The invention also relates to a push grate for carrying out the method.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 1997Date of Patent: March 30, 1999Assignee: BMH Claudius Peters AGInventors: Hartmut Meyer, Gunther Koeberer, Albrecht Wolter, Egbert Steffen

Patent number: 4630531Abstract: Bulk silo with an outlet chamber, from whose upper area a generally open ventilation line runs which is provided with a closing valve for protection against flooding. The closing valve is constructed as a float valve. In order that this closing valve does not become inoperable due to clogging or being inundated with bulk material, its float cage is provided in the area below the float with an aeration device which can be made closed like a plate in order to protect the valve from the direct surge of the material.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1985Date of Patent: December 23, 1986Assignee: Claudius Peters AGInventor: Werner Krauss

Patent number: 4558985Abstract: An annular nonreturn valve is provided in a pump with a screw conveyor mounted at each end. This nonreturn valve seals the outlet end of the pump. It also makes it possible for the conveyed material to be discharged without deflection in the slug area. The pivotability of the sealing element is made possible by the fact that the screw conveyor shaft has a smaller diameter in the direction of conveying behind the annular nonreturn valve. An area with enlarged diameter of the screw conveyor shaft can be provided on a casing so that wear parts can be easily replaced.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1983Date of Patent: December 17, 1985Assignee: Claudius Peters AGInventors: Alfred Fischer, Claus Freimuth, Roland Gerlach, Gerhard Siefert

Patent number: 4509917Abstract: In clinker coolers with a thrust grate a small part of the material to be cooled falls through the grate. These grate screenings usually are collected in funnels, let out and carried away. These funnels and transporting devices are housed between high, complicated foundations. In this invention these funnels are replaced by a removal device which moves the grate screenings horizontally through a transfer canal. This eliminates the complicated foundations and the control of the emptying device previously used.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 1983Date of Patent: April 9, 1985Assignee: Claudius Peters AGInventor: Hans-Jurgen Ubert

Patent number: 4506985Abstract: A mixing chamber silo is described for loose material with a mixing chamber on the silo floor and with a passage between the central mixing compartment and the outer wall of the silo through which the mixed loose material is removed. The passage has a dividing wall between the central mixing compartment and a conduit under the chamber ceiling. Only mixed loose material passes through this opening to conduit and then to the removal outlet. There is no direct connection from the silo area to the removal outlet.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1983Date of Patent: March 26, 1985Assignee: Claudius Peters AGInventor: Adolf Buchfink

Patent number: 4505292Abstract: A closing arrangement for a conveyor line for a mixture containing an abrasive solid is composed of a fluid-tight valve and of a solid-tight auxiliary closing part which acts in the direction of flow in front of the valve and can be closed before the valve in time to protect it. According to the invention the auxiliary closing part is formed by a casing arranged inside the valve which casing is movably guided in the direction of the movement of the valve disk. This casing protects the valve seat from the flowing medium in a direct end position which it assumes when the valve is open. During the closing movement the valve disk contacts the casing edge before it reaches the valve seat. This essentially blocks off at least the abrasive part of the flow medium, so that the valve disk can approach the valve plate under protected conditions, while at the same time the casing is pushed against an elastic force.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1983Date of Patent: March 19, 1985Assignee: Claudius Peters AGInventor: Ulrich Osterode

Patent number: 4475849Abstract: A method and a device for the uniform distribution of a bulk materials stream, particularly one conveyed pneumatically, onto a more extended cross-sectional area possibly divided up into partial stream cross-sections by partitions, is distinguished by the bulk materials stream passing through an elongate vertical charging space, at the end of which it is gathered into a narrowing outlet channel in which the bulk material shows an essentially uniform cross-section distribution and that this bulk materials stream then passes to the tip of a coaxially arranged distribution cone which deflects the bulk material sideways uniformly in all directions and in this way forms a hollow bulk materials curtain of uniform circumferential distribution. This bulk materials curtain can be used as such, for instance in a vessel in which the bulk material is sprayed with liquid, or can be used for the further subdivision into partial streams.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1982Date of Patent: October 9, 1984Assignee: Claudius Peters AGInventor: Peter Hilgraf

Patent number: 4352718Abstract: There is disclosed a method and apparatus for treating particulate material. The said material is injected into a chamber. The material subsequently thereto is sprayed with a moistening material. At the same time gases are introduced at the top of the chamber and at the bottom thereof whereby the moisture on the particulate material is evaporated at a controlled rate. The parameters are such that the applied moisture has an opportunity to penetrate the particulate material for a short period of time to achieve some agglomeration before the moisture is evaporated. A fluidized bed is maintained at the bottom of the chamber and the treated particulate material is removed in this fashion.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 1981Date of Patent: October 5, 1982Assignee: Claudius Peters AGInventor: Gustav Grun
-
Patent number: 4352569Abstract: There is disclosed a mixing apparatus for mixing particulate bulk material. The apparatus consists of a cylindrical housing having distributed thereabout equidistantly a plurality of vertically disposed tubes. The tubes possess a series of vertically displaced entranceways that communicate with the housing containing the material and internally of the tubes for delivery of the material to a centrally located homogenizer in the lower portion of the apparatus. Entrance into the homogenizer is also accomplished directly from the bottom of the zone containing the material and means may also be provided at the top of the homogenizer for introducing therethrough the to-be-mixed material. The material is maintained in a highly fluidized condition by suitably positioned blowers having introductory orifices at strategic locations. The mentioned tubes are charged with the material through an air fluidizing means, which air is then deaerated so that the material may then be further transported to the homogenizer.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 1981Date of Patent: October 5, 1982Assignee: Claudius Peters AGInventor: Werner Krauss

Patent number: 4273451Abstract: A mixing silo for pulverulent material has a main silo chamber with a floor and a mixing chamber with a conical roof substantially centrally arranged on the floor of the silo chamber. A discharge for the material leads from the mixing chamber through the wall of the silo, and inlet openings for the material lead from the bottom of the silo chamber through the bottom of the wall of the mixing chamber. Additionally inlet openings for the material lead from different elevations within the silo chamber through the conical roof of the mixing chamber, for supply of material into the mixing chamber from different elevations in the silo chamber, thus achieving increased mixing and improved flow of the material.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1979Date of Patent: June 16, 1981Assignee: Claudius Peters AGInventor: Werner Krauss
