Abstract: A fenestration drape and a method for providing skin-to-skin contact of a newborn with the mother immediately after birth during a Cesarean delivery are provided. The fenestration drape includes a portal which may be opened and reclosed without compromise to the sterile barrier. The method facilitates the critical contact without interruption and with continuity of sterile field throughout the procedure.
