Abstract: A device for detecting thickness and thickness variation of a sheetlike object, includes at least a first guiding component, a plurality of second guiding components, a plurality of detection units and a position sensor. An up-down displacement occurs between the first guiding component and the second guiding components while the sheetlike object passed through the first guiding component and those second guiding components. The detection units are configured relatively to second guiding components, each of the detection units further comprises a detecting block, a first elastic member, a second elastic member and a fixing member, the first elastic member and a second elastic member connect with the second guiding component via the detecting block, while the displacement occurs at the second guiding component, a sensing face to detected of the first elastic member is having a parallel displacement relative to the position sensor.
Abstract: A sensing method for a counterfeit bill detector includes (i) using multiple image-sensing modules to scan multiple pieces of image information of a bill and converting the multiple pieces of image information into multiple values of digital image, (ii) comparing each value of digital image with a pre-stored image threshold value to generate a reference value, (iii) adding the multiple reference values to generate an image validation value, (iv) comparing the image validation value with a pre-stored validation threshold value to acquire a comparison result, and (v) determining if the multiple pieces of image information are valid according to the comparison result. The sensing method tackles the issue of unsynchronized actions in bill sensing and bill scanning and simultaneously eliminates the problem of distorted scanned bill image arising from entry of misaligned bill to improve accuracy in bill validation.

Abstract: A machine includes an electronic control module for conducting authentication process of a banknote and transiting/receiving every module signal to control operation of a user interface; an image control module for activating an image sensor to read and authenticate the banknote upon receipt of a banknote input signal from the electronic control module, thereby resulting in an authenticated result and transmitting back to the electronic control module; a motor control module for causing a corresponding motor operation of a motor upon receipt of a command signal from the electronic control module; and a counterfeit control module for processing a banknote data via a reading head, a thickness detector and an infrared scanner upon receipt of another signal from the electronic control module and generating, transmitting a banknote result back to the electronic control module for further processing.
