Abstract: Intermediates for preparing novel benzodiazepines having the formula ##SPC1##In which R.sub.1 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or a trifluoromethyl, loweralkyl, loweralkoxy, nitro or amino group; R.sub.2 is a furyl, a thienyl, cyclohexyl, a loweralkyl group or a phenyl group which may be substituted by a halogen atom or by a trifluoromethyl, nitro, loweralkoxy or loweralkyl group; and R.sub.3 is a hydrogen atom or a loweralkyl group; and R.sub.4 is lowercarbalkoxy, carbamoyl, N-loweralkylcarbamoyl, N,N-diloweralkylcarbamoyl, N-(diloweralkylaminoalkyl)carbamoyl, a group having the formula --COOCat in which Cat is a cation of an alkali metal or a semication of an alkaline earth metal or COOCat.CatOH, said intermediates being ortho-aminoaryl ketimines having the formula ##SPC2##Wherein R is hydrogen or ##EQU1## R.sub.1, R.sub.2, and R.sub.3 are as defined above, R.sub.
Abstract: Pharmacologically valuable 3-(aminopropyl)-indoles have the general formula ##SPC1##In which R.sub.1 is phenyl, halophenyl, nitrophenyl, aminophenyl, loweralkoxyphenyl or pyridyl, R.sub.2 is hydrogen or methyl, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are each hydrogen or lower alkyl or taken together form a polymethylene group which may be interrupted by oxygen so that --NR.sub.3 R.sub.4 is a heteromonocycle having 5 or 6 nuclear atoms and R.sub.5 is hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine or methoxy. Especially interesting are those compounds in which at least one of R.sub.1 and R.sub.5 comprises a flourine atom and --NR.sub.3 R.sub.4 is pyrrolidino. The compounds are made by condensation of correspondingly substituted indolylacetones with amines HNR.sub.3 R.sub.4 in a reducing medium or, in certain cases, by reduction of correspondingly substituted indolylacetoximes with or without subsequent lower alkylation.
Abstract: Indoles of the formula ##SPC1##In which R.sub.1 is phenyl, halophenyl, nitrophenyl, aminophenyl, lower alkoxyphenyl, pyridyl, benzyl, halobenzyl, lower alkoxybenzyl or a group of the formula --C.sub.n H.sub.2n NR.sub.4 R.sub.5 in which n is 2, 3 or 4 and each of R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 is hydrogen or alkyl, R.sub.2 is hydrogen, R.sub.3 is hydroxyl or R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 taken together are oxygen or NOR.sub.6 in which R.sub.6 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower acyl or a group of the formula --C.sub.m H.sub.2m NR.sub.7 R.sub.8 in which m is 2, 3 or 4 and each of R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 is lower alkyl, as well as the salts thereof with acids are of low toxicity and possess a pronounced analgesic effect and/or tranquillising effect and are of use in human and veterinary medicine.
