Patent number: 7939593Abstract: The present invention is directed to the provision of premixed aqueous compositions which are used to provide a paint composition of varying finish characteristics at the point of sale. Thus, the merchant distributing the paint composition made from the subject premixed compositions need only maintain inventory of four compositions. The particular compositions which are the subject of the invention exhibit stable characteristics during storage in their respective reservoirs. The compositions include a pigment composition, a dispersant thickening agent, a high resin content binder, and a low resin content binder. The compositions are combined in differing amounts to produce paint compositions being suitable for either interior or exterior use and having differing sheens, quality levels, and color bases.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2009Date of Patent: May 10, 2011Assignee: Coatings Management Systems Inc.Inventors: C. Patent number: 7695185Abstract: The provision of premixed aqueous compositions are used to provide a paint composition of varying finish characteristics at the point of sale. Paint components are combined in differing amounts to produce paint compositions being suitable for either interior or exterior use and having differing sheens, quality levels, and color bases. A user interface to input a desired amount of paint composition and controller is provided. The controller tracks the available amount of the components by subtracting the amounts in the supply reservoirs as they are supplied to the receiving reservoir. The controller determines whether availability components in the supply reservoirs is sufficient for the amount of the desired aqueous paint composition by subtracting the amount components for the desired aqueous paint composition to be produced from the amount in the plurality of supply reservoirs.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2005Date of Patent: April 13, 2010Assignee: Coatings Management Systems, Inc.Inventors: C. Publication number: 20070122227Abstract: A paint applicator (10) for application of paint to a surface (20) is provided which includes a telescopic pole (12) supporting a paint applicator (14) (e.g., a paint roller (28)) and a paint sprayer (16). The sprayer (16) is detachably secured to pole (12) by means of adjustable mounting assembly (48) and is operatively connected with an operating lever (92) also supported on pole (12) through assembly (50). The assemblies (48, 50) and sprayer (16) may be retrofitted onto otherwise conventional pole-type paint applicators. The applicator (10) may be operated by a single user to selectively spray paint onto the surface (20) as needed while appropriately spreading the paint using applicator (14).Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2005Publication date: May 31, 2007Applicant: COATINGS MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS, INC.Inventor: Kurtis Davis
