  • Patent number: 8278556
Abstract: Stabilization of dielectrics used in transmission lines is described. In one implementation, the transmission line includes an outer conductor, a center conductor, and a dielectric material. The dielectric material separates the outer conductor from the center conductor. The center conductor has a conductive surface with a pattern distributed thereon. The pattern is configured to prevent the dielectric material from moving when the transmission line is exposed to an extreme temperature fluctuation. The pattern increases a coefficient of friction between the center conductor and dielectric material sufficient enough to prevent undesired motion of the dielectric material. In one implementation, the pattern includes indentations that are generally, but not necessarily limited to between 0.001 and 0.004 of an inch deep.

  • Patent number: 8270513
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for transmitting a multi-frequency signal composed of discrete tones of constant envelope parts that are amplified by a bank of fully saturated transmitters operating in their most power efficient mode. After amplification and transmission, the signals are multiplexed in the air as opposed to multiplexing before amplification that allows for more efficient amplification as well.

  • Patent number: 7705694
Abstract: In accordance with principles of the present invention, a two or more pole dielectric resonator circuit is provided with resonators that are elliptical in cross section orthogonal to the longitudinal axis. The resonators are mounted so that they are rotatable about their longitudinal axes, such that the straight line distance between two adjacent resonators measured in a straight line between orthogonal to and intersecting the longitudinal axes of the two resonators is a function of the orientation of the resonators about their longitudinal axes. The resonators can be oriented about their longitudinal axes in any orientation to adjust their spacing, which is directly proportional to their coupling magnitude, which, in turn, is proportional to the bandwidth of the circuit.

  • Patent number: 7656332
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a multi-mode and multi-rate telemetry transmitter includes a digital baseband lineup, a digital-to-analog converter (“DAC”), and an analog reconstruction filter. The digital baseband lineup may be programmed to any desired bit rate, enabling the transmitter to support multi-rate capabilities. Different coefficients and numerical values may be programmed in the digital baseband lineup to support any desired modulation scheme, enabling the transmitter to support multi-mode capabilities. The digital baseband lineup may be designed by implementing up-sampling stages, down-sampling stages, and digital filters in a variety of arrangements.
