Patents Assigned to Cochlear Pty. Limited
  • Patent number: 5507303
Abstract: A connector set for percutaneous connection of an implanted device, such as an intracochlear implant, to an external system is disclosed. The connector set preferably has a base portion (30) which is adapted to be affixed to the bone structure beneath the skin and includes a male connector (1C), and a female connection (31) which is mated with and affixed externally to the male connector and is retained in contact therewith magnetically. A bias arrangement (9, 10) operates between the connector components (30, 31) so that while contact therebetween is normally firm, accidental disconnection carries a reduced risk of injury to a user.

  • Patent number: 5042084
Abstract: A transmission system wherein a transmitter includes a first tuned circuit and a transmitter coil is part of a second tuned circuit. A coupling means couples energy between the first tuned circuit and the second tuned circuit. A three wire unshielded cable carries both radio frequency and audio frequency signals. Filter means are provided for filtering the audio frequency signal so that it is free of interference from the radio frequency signal, which may include audio components due to its generally pulsed nature. The circuit may be adjusted for relatively constant coupling to a receiving coil as separation between the transmitter coil and the receiving coil changes.

  • Patent number: 4741339
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for improving the coupling between an external inductive transmitting coil and an internal inductive receiving coil to transmit power and/or data to the receiving coil from the transmitting coil. The structure includes a coupling coil inductively coupled to the transmitting coil to increase the Q factor and hence the energy transfer between the transmitting coil and the receiving coil.
