    Abstract: A keyboard proximity switch having a detecting face for detecting a position of a movable key member is disclosed. An operator controlled keyboard having a plurality of movable key members is modified by the addition of a proximity switch having no moving parts for each of said movable keys, thereby greatly increasing reliability and decreasing down time.
