Abstract: A three-position hinge, for mounting a leaf portion to a center portion of a folding table so as to be pivotable between upward, horizontal, and downward positions closely spaced to the center portion, includes a first mounting plate secured to one horizontal surface of the center portion, a recess formed adjacent the first mounting plate recessed into the center portion, a first pivot member integral with the first mounting plate having a pivot pin positioned in the recess, a second mounting plate secured to the leaf portion, and a second pivot member integral with the second mounting plate and provided with a pivot sleeve which is coaxially mounted on the pivot pin. The pivot axis of the pivot pin is positioned equidistant from the upper and lower plane surface and the lateral edge of the center portion in order to maintain the close spacing in the three positions.
Abstract: This invention relates to a closure device for a container and, more particularly, to a three-piece assembly, including a measuring cup and a pouring spout, as well as a container. The measuring cup is provided with an internally threaded skirt for engaging the threaded neck of the container for squeezing the neck with a half-round bead on the member having the pouring spout to form a tight seal between the pouring spout and the measuring cup. The member including the pouring spout includes a truncated conical body tightly press fitted into the neck of the container and is provided with other sealing means between the pouring spout and the container.
Abstract: Dental plaque-disclosing compositions comprising FD&C Red No. 40 which selectively stain plaque formed on tooth surfaces, making plaque easily observable to the naked eye at visible light wave-lengths.

Abstract: A dispenser for pasty products such as toothpaste, the dispenser having a discharge nozzle and a closure member for the nozzle, the closure member and the nozzle being automatically moved away from each other during a dispensing operation and returned to closed position upon cessation of a dispensing operation. The closure member is combined with an insert for producing a striped product.
Abstract: Dental floss and toothpicks (picks) incorporate one or more coagulants to retard and stop bleeding during flossing. In addition, or alternatively, the floss and picks incorporate tartar control, antiplaque and/or anti-bacterial agents.

Abstract: An apparatus for making post-foaming gels comprising, a piston chamber having an outer case defining a chamber, a piston being slidably received in the case and separating the chamber into a first compartment adjacent one end of the case for retaining a gel base, and a second compartment adjacent the other end of the case for retaining a compressed gas, with said piston having a hollow stem extending out of the other end of the case. The apparatus has a device for circulating the gel base through the stem and first compartment, and a device for introducing a foaming agent to the gel base while it is being circulated through the piston chamber.
Abstract: The invention concerns a dispenser for the metered delivery of materials in paste form, with a tubular housing in which a follower piston in incrementally displaceable in the direction of discharge, and with an actuating key, positioned adjacent to a discharge nozzle, for the displacement of the surface of a pump diaphragm, fastened at its edges, from its rest position in the direction of the follower piston. The follower piston has a closable air vent. The pump diaphragm has a series of radially extending formations which materially increase its recovery capacity following a pumping stroke.
Abstract: Non-toxic water-soluble pharmaceutically acceptable compound derivative of peroxydiphosphoric acid when administered orally or systemically supplements inhibition of malignant myeloma carcinoma tumor development of tumor cells in vitro and actual tumor development in vivo in warm blooded animals.
Abstract: A polarizable material that includes a nonisotropic solution useful for making electrical devices. In one embodiment, the polarizable material is comprised of commercially available solid bar soap, neat soap or a polymorphic solid solution and employed as the dielectric in a capacitor or an electrolyte in a supercapacitor. In another embodiment the nonisotropic solution is employed as an electrolyte in an electrochemical battery.
Abstract: A striping device for forming a plurality of surface strips of two different colored materials on a base material. The striping device includes an inserted filled in a squeezable tube which has an outlet. The insert includes a central cylinder having a conical portion integral therewith for forming a first space between the conical portion and the tube and a second space between the conical portion and the central cylinder. The spaces are filled with differently colored striping material. Openings are provided communicating the first space with the central cylinder and passageways are provided communicating the second space with the central cylinder. The central cylinder is provided with grooves for guiding the striping material.
Abstract: An antistatic particulate laundry detergent composition comprises synthetic organic detergent, preferably sodium linear dodecylbenzene or sodium linear tridecylbenzene sulfonate, inorganic and/or organic builder for the detergent, preferably sodium tripolyphosphate and/or zeolite builder, and higher alkyl or alkylbenzene hydroxyethyl imidazoline of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is an alkyl or alkylbenzene of 8 to 24 carbon atoms preferably stearyl, which detergent composition is of improved detergency due to the presence therein of the higher alkyl or alkylbenzene hydroxyethyl imidazoline antistat. In preferred detergent compositions of this type bentonite is desirably present for its fabric softening activity, and such activity is improved by the presence of the higher alkyl or alkylbenzene hydroxyethyl imidazoline, which also possesses fabric softening properties.

Abstract: A package for a flowable material comprising, an elongated collapsible tube defining a chamber to receive the material, the tube having a tapered shoulder, with the shoulder having a generally central opening. The package has a separate insert comprising a hollow tubular section received in the opening, with the tubular section having an outer end portion located outside of the shoulder, and an inner end portion extending into the chamber a sufficient distance to prevent extrusion of the material in the region of the shoulder through the tubular section, and a device for sealingly engaging the shoulder around the opening.
Abstract: A pump type dispenser having a bellows or diaphragm formed by a plurality of hollow ribs and valleys therebetween extending between a peripheral skirt and a central barrel. The valleys are inclined downwardly from the skirt to the barrel insuring the strength and resiliency of the diaphragm to return the diaphragm to its relaxed position after repeated activation.

Abstract: A solvent based upon a volatile silicone (cyclomethicone) which has a prime utility of removing soap scum or alkaline earth oxide stearates. The composition is utilized as a bi-composition of dimethycyloxane or cyclomethicone and Silwet L-77 (Union Carbide), a polyalkylene oxide modified dimethyl polysiloxane. The addition of glutaric acid to the composition adds a dicarboxylic acid which assists in emulsifying and loosening soil and an optimum pH aqueous solution.
