Abstract: 2-MERCAPTOQUINOXALINE-1-OXIDES, SALTS THEREOF AND 2-(1-OXOQUINOXALINYL) DISULFIDES ARE USEFUL ANTIMICROBIAL AGENTS, ACTIVE AGAINST GRAM-NEGATIVE AND GRAM-POSITIVE BACTERIA AND FUNGI, E.Q., Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Micrococcus pyogenes var. aureus, Tricophyton mentagrophytes, and Pityrosporum ovale. The antimicrobial compounds are useful alone, usually in aqueous solution, as microbicides or microbistats. They may also be included as constituents of hairdressings or shampoo because they are effective microbicides, even in the presence of oily materials, such as the sebum normally secreted by the human scalp.
Abstract: Liquid detergent compositions based on water-soluble alpha-olefin sulfonate detergent, preferably together with a higher alcohol ethoxylate sulfate detergent, include an anti-gelling agent, such as sodium chloride, together with a nitrate, such as sodium nitrate, the combination of which helps prevent gelation and filming of the liquid detergent on standing and also prevents corrosion of ferrous metals and ferrous alloys, such as stainless steel, which may be brought into contact with the liquid detergent compositions.

Abstract: A dentifrice which contains a non-cariogenic humectant sweetener. The dentifrice contains non-cariogenic xylitol which has the sweetening strength of sucrose and which also serves as a humectant.
Abstract: An hygienic napkin comprising an envelope of liquid penetrable material which is folded and secured in such a manner as to form a pouch for receiving absorbent material therein. The envelope is provided with a flap for closing the pouch and a fluid-impervious sheet is provided for preventing passage of liquids all the way through the envelope.
Abstract: Compositions suitable for bleaching and washing comprising essentially (1) a water-soluble peroxide bleaching agent, (2) an activator comprising an organic compound and (3) a nitrilotricarboxylic compound.
Abstract: Novel urea-ethoxamer inclusion compounds and a method for their production is disclosed. The new method includes mixing of the ethoxamer with a urea-organic solvent slurry and the subsequent addition of small amounts of silica substances before final curing of the mixture. Ethoxamer content of the new inclusion compounds can be as high as about 65 percent by weight. The new compounds are in the form of free flowing powders and are suitable for post addition to spray dried detergent formulations in order to substantially increase the nonionic surfactant content of the particulate detergent product.
Abstract: A cleaning composition particularly adapted for washing dishes, glasses and silverware in mechanical devices such as automatic dishwashers and capable of inhibiting overglaze attack containing as an essential ingredient aluminum silicate.
Abstract: A golf club head cover having a three ply wall construction of a water impervious outer layer, non-moisture absorbent textile material inner liner and an intermediate foam plastic layer.
Abstract: An absorbent article comprising an absorbent pad having a front surface, and sheet means, including a film of thermoplastic material, covering at least a portion of the front surface of the pad. A pattern is fused into the film to define a discontinuous front surface of the article.
Abstract: A non-phosphate and non-Nta-containing detergent composition comprising from about 30 to 95% by weight of a detergent, especially an anionic or nonionic detergent and from about 5 to 70% by weight of chelidamic acid or 4-hydroxy-2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid hereinafter referred to as "4H" acid, and salts thereof.
Abstract: Novel pyridazine-2-oxide derivatives inclusive of 3-mercaptopyridazine-2-oxides, disulfides thereof, metal salts thereof and 3-(2-oxopyridazinyl)isothiouronium compounds having particular utility as antimicrobial agents per se and in skin cleansing detergent compositions, shampoos, hair dressing and the like.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dentifrice preparation containing a water-soluble monofluorophosphate and a polishing material containing at least a major proportion of dimagnesium orthophosphate.
Abstract: A diluting and dispensing container having a neck portion for receiving and puncturing the bottom of a capsule of concentrated material. The capsule has an annular storage compartment, a central passageway and a frangible bottom wall.
Abstract: There is disclosed a liquid abrasive composition comprising an aqueous suspension of a substantially water-insoluble particulate abrasive, a nonionic surfactant and a suspending agent selected from natural and synthetic clays, hydrophobically treated clays, fumed silica, magnesium montmorillonite, and complex magnesium aluminum silicates.
Abstract: Germicidal, all-purpose liquid cleaner contains a quaternary ammonium compound germicide and nitrilotriacetic acid or its salts. A nonionic surfactant and sodium bicarbonate stabilizer may be included.
Abstract: Aqueous solutions of anionic surfactants are effective fabric softeners which can be sprayed directly onto washable textile fabrics. In addition, the solutions impart soil-release properties to the fabrics. A silicone resin may be incorporated into the solution to provide a spray-on ironing aid.

Abstract: A bleach-stable fabric detergent and/or softening composition comprising effective amounts of a softening agent selected from the group consisting of a urea, diurea, thiourea, dithiourea and mixtures thereof represented by the formulae:1. RNHCXNH(CH.sub.2).sub.n NH.sub.2, and2. RNHCXNH(CH.sub.2).sub.n NHCXNHR, wherein R is an alkyl group containing 2-18 carbons or an aryl group, X is oxygen or sulfur, and n is 2-12, said softener being compatible with surfactants and other ingredients normally found in detergent formulations.
Abstract: The development of perspiration is inhibited by topical application of 3-phenyl-3-carbo-(beta-di-lower alkylamino)-lower alkoxy-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran or a salt thereof, preferably the hydrochloride, and an antiperspirant aluminum, zinc, or zirconium salt, preferably aluminum chlorohydrate or aluminum chloride. The compositions applied may be aqueous, preferably including a surface active agent, such as a nonionic synthetic surface active compound of poly-lower alkylene oxide, or they may be non-aqueous, as in "aerosol" powder sprays. The amounts of the composition employed are small and the proportion of antiperspirant metal salt present is greater than that of the dihydrobenzofuran compound.
