Publication number: 20150095401Abstract: A method for identifying participants of a collaborative network is disclosed. The participants communicate over a larger electronic network wherein not all members may be participating in the collaborative session. The method begins by determining a unique session identifier for only the participants of the collaborative network. Next, a message having the session identifier is sent to all members of the network by an inquiring participant of the collaborative network. Only participants that have the session identifier respond to the inquiring participant. Finally, communication is established between the participants that responded to the message and the inquiring participant. In this regard, a collaborative network is formed including the inquiring participant.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 8, 2014Publication date: April 2, 2015Applicant: COLLIGO NETWORKS, INC.Inventors: Michael A. Blackstock, Andrew D. WATKINS, Hank SPAAY, Mathieu P. GEORGE, Nicholas J. Sawadsky

Patent number: 8725865Abstract: A peer-to-peer collaborative network system is described. The peer-to-peer collaborative network system allows for the existence of a number of collaborative networks. Within the collaborative networks, users can interact in ways such as messaging, file sharing, resource sharing, and the like. The user will query other users on the network to determine which collaborative networks are active. The user can then select an active collaborative network without having to be invited there.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2009Date of Patent: May 13, 2014Assignee: Colligo Networks, Inc.Inventors: Linda Ruth Bartram, Michael Anthony Blackstock, Henk Gerardus Maris Spaay

Publication number: 20080243944Abstract: A method of synchronizing databases between multiple users in a peer-to-peer network is disclosed. The method comprises extracting changes from a source database of one of the users. Next, the changes are compressed and sent to the other users in the peer-to-peer network in parallel. Finally, the changes are decompressed and replicated on the database of each of the other users. In this respect, the databases of the other users will contain all changes from the source database.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2008Publication date: October 2, 2008Applicant: Colligo Networks, Inc.Inventors: Nicholas Justin Sawadsky, Daniel (Yilin) Shi, Andrew Edward Block, Michael Anthony Blackstock, Henricus Gerardus Spaay, Desiree Paula Rodriguez

Patent number: 7392375Abstract: A peer-to-peer collaborative network system is described. The peer-to-peer collaborative network system uses an authentication system with multiple levels of authentication. This allows some collaboration applications to allow a collaboration with a high authentication level, but not to allow a collaboration with a lower level of authentication. Other collaborative applications can allow a collaboration with the lower level of authentication.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2002Date of Patent: June 24, 2008Assignee: Colligo Networks, Inc.Inventors: Linda Ruth Bartram, Mark Miller Chesser, Nicholas Sawadsky, Steven Joseph Schumacher, Michael Blackstock

Patent number: 7293284Abstract: Peer-to-peer authentication may be accomplished by sending a digital certificate to a responder, receiving a randomized codeword in response to the sending, creating a secure fingerprint based at least in part on the digital certificate and randomized codeword, creating a first bit sequence based at least in part on a first portion of the secure fingerprint and a second portion of the randomized codeword and indicating the first digital certificate is authenticated based upon whether the first bit sequence matches a second bit sequence received from the responder via an out-of-band communication in response to the sending. The size of the first bit sequence is less than the size of the secure fingerprint. According to another aspect, the first bit sequence is compared with a rendering of the second bit sequence, using an out-of-band communication, by associating the first bit sequence with one or more indices into an array of representations.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2002Date of Patent: November 6, 2007Assignee: Colligo Networks, Inc.Inventors: Linda R.
