  • Patent number: 6361099
Abstract: A molded floor covering for a vehicle floor includes a thermoplastic polymer layer with an integral, threaded drain tube extending therefrom. The drain tube is configured such that a distal end thereof can extend through a drain hole in a vehicle floor when the floor covering is installed within a vehicle. The drain tube includes a threaded bore that is configured to receive a correspondingly-threaded drain plug therein. A method of producing a molded floor covering having an integrally formed, threaded drain tube includes providing a mold having a contour of a vehicle floor with an outwardly projecting threaded member. A layer of thermoplastic polymer is vacuum formed over the mold and around the threaded member such that the layer follows the contours of the mold and threaded member to form an elongate tube extending therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6349913
Abstract: A cup holder has an elongated drawer movable between a retracted position and an extended position. The retracted position is within the housing. The extended position is outside the housing. The drawer has a support platform which is pivotally secured to the drawer. The support platform pivots between a non-supporting position when the drawer is in the retracted position and a supporting position when the drawer is in the extended position. A stabilizing arm is also secured to the drawer and pivots between a non-stabilizing position when the drawer is in the retracted position and a stabilizing position when the drawer is in the extended position. Secured to the support platforms and the stabilizing arms are rods which have support and stabilizing pins extending out therefrom. The rods travel in slots cut out of vertical side walls of the housing.

  • Patent number: 6290279
Abstract: Floor drains are provided that can be inserted through floor coverings and through multiple floor panels of a vehicle body. An elongate hollow body terminates at an open distal end and at an open proximate end. A flange extends circumferentially around the open proximate end. One or more resilient members extend circumferentially around, and outwardly from, the body in adjacent spaced-apart relationship with the flange. The resilient members are configured to secure the floor drain within a vehicle floor panel such that the flange compressively engages the floor panel.

  • Patent number: 6279999
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for form-fitting covers to vehicle passenger seats are provided. A cushion is mounted on a seat frame and surrounded by a cover having one or more heat shrinkable fabric panels attached to a peripheral edge thereof. Each heat shrinkable fabric panel is attached to the seat frame and heat is applied. The heat causes each panel to shrink along a predetermined direction, thereby drawing the cover taut around the cushion and frame.

  • Patent number: 5807047
Abstract: A retaining bracket is adapted to prevent an end portion of a cargo support beam supported between a pair of opposite walls of a cargo compartment from becoming dislodged. A plate is provided with an aperture and configured to permit the end portion of a cargo beam to pass therethrough and cooperate with a slot in an E-track mounted to a wall of a cargo compartment. A pair of spaced apart tabs are configured to cooperate with a respective slot on opposite sides of a slot in which a cargo beam end portion is cooperating. A pair of spaced apart flanges are configured to receive a beam end portion therebetween. A locking pin is configured to be removably inserted within flange apertures and an aperture in beam end portion to prevent the cargo beam from dislodging from its cooperating slot.
