Abstract: A method of providing support to an anatomical structure of the pelvis includes making a vaginal incision for providing access for placement of a mesh support device below a urethra of a patient without penetrating an abdominal wall of the patient. The mesh support device includes a sling portion and first and second soft tissues connected to first and second ends of the sling portion. The mesh support device is delivered through the vaginal incision using an introducer including a curved elongate shaft having a distal portion and a proximal portion connected to a handle. A suture is passed through a hollow tubular section of the first soft tissue anchor. The suture passed through an aperture in a distal end of the introducer and the introducer is advanced over the suture until the first soft tissue anchor is located at the distal end of the introducer.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device (1) for irrigation of externally debouching, natural or artificial body canals of animals or human beings. The device comprises a catheter (2), and optionally a container (3) designed for containing irrigation medium (4) and a tube member (5) connecting the catheter (2) with the container (3). The catheter is provided with a fixation member (6) for fixation of the catheter inside the body canal and for providing a liquid tight seal between the catheter (2) and the body canal, which fixation member (6) automatically fixates and seals around the catheter (2) when placed in the body canal. The invention further relates to a method of producing the device. Finally, the invention relates to the use of the device (1) for performing irrigation on a person.

Abstract: A method for preparing a non-fibrous porous material essentially consisting of one or more hydrophilic polymers and/or pharmaceutical medicaments comprising forming an aqueous solution, sol or gel comprising one or more hydrophilic polymers and/or pharmaceutical medicaments, freezing the solution, sol or gel and extracting the frozen water selectively using a hydrophilic organic solvent being miscible with water at a temperature below 5° C. at which temperature the solvent is not able to dissolve the frozen solutes, leaving the non-fibrous material in a solid, porous form.

Abstract: A dressing comprising a main part and a handle part. The main part comprising an adhesive layer, a release liner and a carrier layer optionally covered by a protective layer. The handle part comprises at least one table member, said tab member being designed for use as a “non touch” grip for applying the dressing to the skin without touching the adhesive surface of the main part. The tab member comprises one or more layers and has at least one layer in common with the main part of the dressing. Further, the length of an intermediate zone between the handle part and the main part is less than 20% of the length of the periphery of the main part. Still further, the handle part may be provided with at least one additional layer. Finally, there may be provided at least one notch in an intermediate zone between the handle part and the main part of the dressing in order to facilitate removal of the tab member during or after applying the dressing.

Abstract: An adhesive agent for application to human or animal skin, preferably for use in connection with ostomy or incontinence appliances, comprises a pressure sensitive adhesive and optionally additives conventionally used in adhesives of this kind and parts of or extracts from Aloe vera. Such adhesive prevents or alleviates skin problems.

Abstract: A dressing for dosing one or more medicaments comprising at least one medicament containing layer (2, 2a, 2b) and a barrier layer (1, 1a, 1b) arranged between the medicament containing layer and the release face (6, 6a), said barrier layer consisting of a continuous hydrophobic phase and a discontinuous hydrophilic phase which is dispersed therein and which is water soluble or water swellable. Desired medicament release rates and release profiles within very wide limits may be obtained with the dressing.
