A receiver extension is connected to the receiver, at least part of the action system extending into the receiver extension. A folding stock is connected to the receiver. The receiver extension is located within the folding stock.

Abstract: A semi-automatic or automatic rifle is provided. The semi-automatic or automatic rifle includes a receiver having an integral hand guard portion, a barrel having a bore. The bore is removably connected to the receiver, the hand guard portion extending over and surrounding the barrel, an indirect gas operating system has a gas block and a piston. The gas block has a cylinder, the gas block is fitted to the barrel, the cylinder is in communication with the bore. The piston has a piston end and a striking end, the piston end is fitted to the cylinder and has a bolt carrier having a striking surface. When a cartridge is fired, gas displaces the piston end and causes the striking end to strike the striking surface displacing the bolt assembly, wherein, the cylinder and the piston are together removable as an assembly from the firearm without disassembly of the rifle.

The firearm has a black rifle configuration receiver assembly having a bolt assembly enclosed within. A gas block is fitted to the barrel assembly, the gas block having a front folding sight. A rod assembly has a striking rod. Gas discharged from a fired cartridge displaces the piston and causes the striking rod displace the bolt assembly.

Abstract: An automatic or semi-automatic firearm including a trigger having a frame, at least one trigger sear extending from the frame, and a hammer having a hammer pivot axis, a head and at least one hammer sear disposed on a lateral side of the hammer between the hammer pivot axis and the head, wherein the frame includes a pivot axis and the at least one trigger sear includes a trigger sear surface, the at least one trigger sear extending from the frame such that the at least one trigger sear engages a corresponding one of the at least one hammer sear.

Abstract: A portable firing berm adapted to capture bullets fired at the berm. The portable berm has a frame forming an opening through which bullets fired at the berm enter the berm and a bullet containment portion communicating with the opening. The bullet containment portion has an integral impact section disposed so that unspent bullets received in the bullet containment portion impact against and are stopped by the impact section, and having an integral bullet containment section arranged to contain bullets and bullet fragments from the impact section. The bullet containment portion is movably mounted to the frame to move substantially as a unit relative to the opening from one position to another position.

A bolt assembly having a striking surface is provided. When a cartridge is fired, gas displaces the piston end and causes the striking end to strike the striking surface displacing the bolt assembly. The cylinder and the piston are together removable as an assembly from the firearm without removal of the gas block.

Abstract: A semi-automatic or automatic rifle includes a receiver having a receiver frame, a barrel connected to the receiver frame, a hand guard section extending over and generally surrounding the barrel, the hand guard section connected to the receiver, an accessory mount connected to the receiver frame and located below the barrel, a hand grip with an integrated sight removably connected to the accessory mount, the removable hand grip having a locating and locking feature adapted to engage the accessory mount, wherein, the removable hand grip is selectably interchangeable with other hand grips, each having different predetermined characteristics selectable for coupling to the rifle and wherein, the removable hand grip is configured so that it forms a stand alone sighting device independent of the rifle.

Abstract: A portable firing berm adapted to capture bullet fragments from rounds fired at the berm. The portable firing berm has a funnel portion and a dry tank portion connected to the funnel portion. The funnel portion is configured to funnel and deflect rounds into the dry tank portion. The dry tank portion has absorbing media fill therein, the absorbing media being arranged to absorb energy from the fired rounds and to capture and contain the bullet fragments.

Abstract: A firearm having a barrel and an accessory mounting system. The accessory mounting system has a hand guard surrounding a portion of the barrel and fastening features coupled to the hand guard. Peripheral device mounting rails are coupled to the fastening features and located in a generally “Y” shape pattern. The generally “Y” shape pattern has a first peripheral device mounting rail located on a lower portion of the hand guard and second and third peripheral device mounting rails located on opposing sides of an upper portion of the hand guard. The peripheral device mounting rails are placed where peripheral devices mounted on the peripheral device mounting rails do not interfere with a line of sight of the firearm.

The hand guard has a venting features for allowing cooling air to pass therethrough. The hand guard has a heat shield mounted therein. The hand guard has at least one peripheral device mounting rail. The hand guard has an upper portion and a removable lower portion. The removable lower portion has at least one peripheral device mounting rail. The removable lower portion may be removed and replaced with a different second removable lower portion without the removal of fasteners.
