Patents Assigned to Coltec Industrial Products LLC
  • Publication number: 20140144536
Abstract: The invention is a divider block assembly suitable for use at high fluid pressures. Applicant has found that a sufficiently deep counterbored hole allows a mounting bolt to apply the sealing pressure well below the divider block surface, which can reduce or eliminate the compressive force on the metal around the piston bore, thereby reducing or eliminating distortion of the piston bore of the divider block and providing.

  • Patent number: 8720648
Abstract: A device and method are described for extending the life of check valves. An improved check valve having a double poppet and tapered guides is more robust, and a check valve protection device between the check valve and the environment into which fluid is injected protects the valve from a contaminating or corrosive environment. The check valve and check valve protection device are small and light weight to prevent vibration-induced failures. The check valve protection device preferably has an interior volume that fills quickly by relatively few cycles of the lubricant pump to reduce delay of lubricant to the injection point.

  • Patent number: 8561477
Abstract: A fluid flow monitoring system including one or more fluid flow dispensing valves each including a piston. Fluid flow sensors are associated with the fluid flow dispensing valves for measuring fluid flow. The fluid flow sensors include a housing with a magnet positioned therein and a piston follower is coupled to the magnet. The piston follower includes a shoulder portion positioned within the housing. A spring is operative to bias the magnet and piston follower towards the piston during operation so that piston movement is transmitted to the magnet. The housing includes a retainer portion disposed on the housing that confronts the shoulder portion of the piston follower whereby the magnet, piston follower, and spring are retained within the housing. The system also includes a fluid flow monitor that includes a microprocessor programmed to convert cycle signals from the sensors to fluid flow information.

  • Patent number: 8069950
Abstract: A device that relieves lubricant pressure in a divider block lubrication system into a fluid reservoir, a container, or directly back into the compressor frame to which the tubing is connected. This eliminates housekeeping, environmental, safety, and compressor component failure concerns associated with current atmospheric rupture assemblies that relieve directly to the atmosphere. The environmental compressor protection assembly contains a spring set to a pre-determined pressure. Lubricant pressure in excess of this pre-determined set pressure results in spring compression and opening of a relief path. The assembly preferably remains in a full open position and must be must be manually reset to the closed position to prevent fluid flow in the system. The relief path can lead to a fluid reservoir, a container, or directly back into the compressor frame. Flow of lubricant through the relief path results in loss of flow to the lubrication system.

  • Patent number: 7970558
Abstract: A method for monitoring a signal from a cycle switch mounted to a lubrication divider block system. The method comprises receiving a signal from a remotely located cycle switch that is mounted to a divider block, wherein the cycle switch is responsive to the motion of a piston in the divider block. The number of cycles of the cycle switch are counted based on the signal from the cycle switch. The number of cycles is stored in a computer readable medium and the amount of lubricant used is calculated based on the number of cycles. The amount of lubricant used is then stored in the computer readable storage medium.

  • Patent number: 6743511
Abstract: This invention relates to methods for manufacturing large PTFE parts by compression molding followed by sintering. The method comprises layering modified and unmodified PTFE in a mold, and compressing the layers to form a preform part. Once the preform parts are formed, they are assembled such that the areas of preform parts which are to be bonded together are the modified PTFE sections. The parts are then sintered and the modified PTFE sections bond together creating a strong, durable, bond.
