Patent number: 12313613Abstract: Methods of testing pharmaceutical compositions for the presence or absence of active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) crystallinity in an amorphous solid dispersion or solid-state solution using UV/vis spectrometry is provided. Testing may be performed standalone or during manufacturing of a pharmaceutical composition. A predictive model provides for quantitative analysis of the amount of crystalline API based on UV/vis data of corresponding reference samples. Also provided is an apparatus for manufacturing a pharmaceutical composition.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2020Date of Patent: May 27, 2025Assignee: COLVISTEC AGInventors: Andreas Berghaus, Angela Spangenberg

Patent number: 11988588Abstract: A multi-fibre optical probe for spectroscopically analysing high concentration mediums (i.e. about 40 wt % or higher solid particulates), an extruder comprising a multi-fibre optical probe, use of said multi-fibre optical probe are provided. Methods of generating a predictive model, determining the value of a parameter of a solid particulate dispersion and manufacturing a solid particulate dispersion are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2020Date of Patent: May 21, 2024Assignee: COLVISTEC AGInventors: Andreas Berghaus, Oliver Kohler

Patent number: 10031025Abstract: A method is provided for testing a diffusely reflective liquid for color strength, said liquid comprising particles in a carrier medium, e.g. white emulsion paint based on titanium dioxide. The method comprises measuring in situ a lightness parameter of the liquid, of the carrier medium and of the liquid diluted with amounts of carrier medium; and determining from said measurements a dilution parameter indicating the amount of carrier medium needed to produce a predetermined reduction in the lightness parameter of the liquid, said dilution parameter providing an indication of color strength. The lightness parameter may be L* in the CIE L*, a*, b* color space, and the test may be carried out using a diffuse reflection probe (10) configured to direct light from said probe (10) into the liquid and configured to collect a portion of the light from the probe (10) diffusely reflected by the paint for determining the lightness parameter. The results may be used for process control e.g. in emulsion paint manufacture.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2012Date of Patent: July 24, 2018Assignee: COLVISTEC AGInventor: Andreas Werner Berghaus
