Abstract: A method, computer readable medium and system for providing an interactive desktop and/or browser-based information workspace (or “playground”) includes obtaining at a workspace management processing system a selection of one or more condensed information objects and one or more of application tools. A customized interactive workspace for non-video game based information in a video game display graphical user interface format is provided to the computing system from the workspace management processing system based on a default interactive workspace populated with the selected one or more condensed information objects and one or more application tools. The customized interactive workspace is configured to enable at least one of the one or more application tools to act upon, affect or interact with at least one of the one or more condensed information objects from within the customized interactive workspace and the customized interactive workspace.
