  • Publication number: 20220060332
Abstract: A method (100) for block generation in a distributed ledger is presented. Each client device of a plurality of client devices (302) to (308) defines an associated battery (200). Each battery (200) comprises a proof-of-work (PoW) (202) and a unique identifier (204) of the associated client device. Each of the plurality of client devices (302) to (308) broadcasts the associated battery (200) to a plurality of nodes that maintain the distributed ledger. The plurality of nodes record the battery in the distributed ledger and select, via a battery selection algorithm, a first battery associated with a first client device to generate a new block in the distributed ledger. The first client device generates the new block using the first battery.

  • Publication number: 20210385084
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to monitoring processes. A processor creates a numerical representation of a nominal operation of the process. The processor then encrypts the numerical representation using homomorphic encryption to determine an encrypted numerical representation that blocks access to the numerical representation but allows calculations on the numerical representations. The processor proceeds by creating smart contracts on a blockchain platform using the encrypted numerical representation as a first input to the calculations of the smart contract. Next, the processor attempts execution of the smart contract using the current operation of the process as a second input to the calculations of the smart contract. The execution of the smart contract generates an output result by performing the calculations on the encrypted numerical representations.

  • Patent number: 11175355
Abstract: This disclosure relates to Superconducting Quantum Interference Apparatuses, such as SQUID arrays and SQUIFs. A superconducting quantum interference apparatus comprises an array of loops each loop constituting a superconducting quantum interference device. The array comprises multiple columns, each of the columns comprises multiple rows connected in series, each of the multiple rows comprises a number of loops connected in parallel, and the number of loops connected in parallel in each row is more than two and less than 20 to improve a performance of the apparatus. It is an advantage that keeping the number of loops in parallel below 20 improves the performance of the apparatus. This is contrary to existing knowledge where it is commonly assumed that a larger number of parallel loops would increase performance.
