Abstract: A fiber optic distribution terminal includes a cable spool rotatably disposed within an enclosure; an optical power splitter and a termination region carried by the cable spool; an optical cable deployable from the enclosure by rotating the cable spool by pulling on a connectorized end of the optical cable; and splitter pigtails extending between the optical power splitter and the termination region. One fiber of the optical cable extending between the connectorized end and the splitter input. The other fibers of the optical cable extend to a multi-fiber adapter.

Abstract: A breakout assembly for transitioning a multi-fibre optical cable into one or more individual fibres is disclosed. The breakout assembly includes a first housing segment engageable at a first end to the cable and engageable at a second end with one or more furcation tubes that each receive an individual fibre from the cable, and a second housing segment engageable at a first end to the cable and engageable at a second end with one or more furcation tubes that each receive an individual fibre from the cable. The first housing segment is securable to the second housing segment so as to encapsulate at least a portion of the individual fibres as they break out from the cable.

Abstract: A flat drop cable has notches or other structures for enhancing the stripability of the jacket from the a core of the flat drop cable. The notches can have an angled configuration with surfaces that converge as the notch extends into the jacket. Inner edges of the notches can be positioned along a tear path that intersects the core of the flat drop cable. For example, the notches can be offset from a minor axis of the flat drop cable a sufficient distance such that the notches are positioned outside a central boundary region that extends tangent to sides of the core and parallel to the minor axis of the flat drop cable.
