  • Patent number: 5211161
Abstract: A three axis passive motion exerciser which moves the patient's foot in dorsal/plantar, valgus/varus and abduction/adduction movements. A microprocessor provides signals to control motors which drive cradles and a plate in the desired motions. Potentiometers provide positional feedback information about the actual location of the cradles and the plate, with series resistors providing feedback of the actual motor drive current values. The microprocessor monitors the positions of two motions versus a master motion to keep the movements in synchronization. The movements are synchronized so that the end of the travel limit is reached for each axis simultaneously. The microprocessor further monitors the drive currents to prevent overcurrent conditions and the speeds to limit travel rates. A display and keyboard are provided to allow the operator to monitor and change operating parameters, such as travel limits, force limits and session times.

  • Patent number: 4905677
Abstract: The apparatus for the mobilization of a lower limb according to the invention comprises: a beam mounted for pivoting on the base via an axis of horizontal reference position, a drive member controlling the pivoting movement of the beam between a stable horizontal rest position and a maximum angular opening position, and vice versa, an articulated assembly placed sideways with respect to either one of the sides of the beam, and means for resting and rolling the distal end of the tibial section of the articulated assembly over a base supporting plane.

  • Patent number: 4577623
Abstract: The present invention relates to orthopedic equipment and more particularly to a splint for mobilizing an upper limb, which comprises a vertical framework supporting, in its upper part, a brachial cradle articulated about a horizontal geometrical axis, intended substantially to coincide with the scapulo-humeral joint of the upper limb, and which is connected to the framework by a drive member capable of pivoting the cradle about said axis in movements of abduction/adduction with respect to the framework, said cradle being provided with an adjustable axial extension bearing a bent bar whose part substantially parallel to the extension supports an adjustable antebrachial splint. The invention is applicable to the functional reeducation of the scapulo-humeral joint.

  • Patent number: RE33182
Abstract: An apparatus for re-educating the finger joints of a hand. The hand is rested on a support at a finger joint and an articulated segment of a finger is engaged by the apparatus. Portions of the apparatus move so that the finger tips of the engaged fingers are moved in a spiral path toward the palm using the support as a fulcrum. This spiral motion is performed by a single, motor-driven slide-guide to which one or more of the articulated segments are engaged.
