  • Patent number: 5866910
Abstract: A flow-through photochemical reactor includes a reactor body, that circumscribes a longitudinally extending channel having a generally annular cross section. This channel accommodates fluids passing between an inner wall of the reactor body and an outer wall of a photon-transmitting tube that is housed internally thereof. In addition, the reactor includes mechanically static, fluid-dynamic elements for passively inducing substantial turbulent flow within a fluid as it passes through the channel. This arrangement substantially increases the uniformity of the fluid's exposure to photons radiating from a source within the tube into the fluid as it is conducted through the channel.

  • Patent number: 5864658
Abstract: The test apparatus (PC,KB,DIS,PR,IF) communicates via a standard serial bus (12) with a device under test (DUT) to verify conformity with a standard application protocol defining the format, meaning and applicability of messages passed via the bus (12). The apparatus generates a test sequence of commands and requests and analyses the replies of the DUT for conformity. The test sequence and the analysis are adapted automatically in response to previous replies of the device, to provide a thorough but efficient test of the device and any subdevices identified within it. Where the standard application protocol defines extended autonomous cooperation between devices, the test apparatus emulates one or more further devices to be controlled and interrogated by the device under test.

  • Patent number: 5864110
Abstract: A power supply apparatus for a plasma arc utilizing equipment providing an output current nearly equal to an input current includes a first converter for converting an AC voltage to a DC voltage. The DC voltage is converted to a high frequency voltage by an inverter. The output of the inverter is converted through a second converter to a DC voltage which is applied between a torch and a workpiece. A current detector detects an output current flowing between the second converter and the workpiece. A voltage detector detects an output voltage between the torch and the workpiece. A multiplier multiplies the output current and the output voltage to provide a signal representative of an output power. A comparator compares the output power representative signal with a first preset value.
