  • Publication number: 20110009008
Abstract: A USB (Universal Serial Bus) A-type socket configured for coupling with a USB A-type plug complies with the USB 3.0 specification and includes a composite member, a plurality of second terminals, and a metal housing. The composite member includes a plurality of first terminals and an insulating body, wherein the insulating body partially wraps and firmly holds the first terminals. The second terminals are assembled to guiding rails provided on the composite member. The metal housing encloses the composite member. Since the first terminals and the insulating body are integrated as the one-piece composite member, positional stability of the first terminals is ensured.

  • Patent number: 7845982
Abstract: A DisplayPort socket includes a first composite element and a second composite element. The first composite element includes a first insulating body partially and tightly covering plural terminals so that the terminals are exposed on a plate of the first insulating body and form plural conduction zones. The second composite element includes a second insulating body partially and tightly covering plural terminals so that the terminals are exposed on a plate of the second insulating body and form plural conduction zones. The plates of the first and second composite elements are stacked flat on each other to form a coupling plate for coupling buttingly with a DisplayPort connector. By integrating the first and second insulating bodies with their corresponding terminals to form the first and second composite elements and then assembling the first and second composite elements together, the terminals are securely positioned, thus increasing the reliability of the socket.

  • Patent number: 7841860
Abstract: A compensating circuit board connector for connecting two adjacent circuit boards includes two sockets and a jumper. Each socket includes at least one receiving terminal having a conducting portion with two opposite sidewalls. The sockets are disposed on the circuit boards, respectively, so the conducting portions of the receiving terminals of the sockets jointly form an accommodating space. The jumper is mated with the sockets and includes at least one jumper terminal. The jumper terminal, configured for being received in the accommodating space, includes a frame and two resilient portions. The frame, narrower than a spacing between the opposite sidewalls of each receiving terminal, extends through the conducting portions of the receiving terminals of the sockets. The resilient portions, provided respectively at two ends of the frame, extend outward to each press against the opposite sidewalls of the corresponding receiving terminal, thereby electrically connecting the receiving terminals of the sockets.

  • Patent number: 7677923
Abstract: A double visual-interface socket compliant with socket design rules set forth in the Digital Visual Interface standard comprises: a lower socket unit including plural L-shaped terminal pins; an upper socket unit disposed above the lower socket unit and including plural terminal pins; an adapter module including plural L-shaped pins arranged in rows; and a circuit board having plural terminal guide holes and plural extension guide holes. The terminal guide holes are inserted by, soldered to, and therefore electrically connected with the terminal pins of the upper socket unit, respectively. The extension guide holes are electrically connected with the terminal guide holes, respectively, and are inserted by, soldered to, and therefore electrically connected with ends of the L-shaped pins of the adapter module, respectively. The opposite ends of the L-shaped pins of the adapter module are substantially aligned with bottom ends of the L-shaped terminal pins of the lower socket unit.

  • Patent number: 7595996
Abstract: An expanding card mechanism for protecting a circuit board is disclosed. The expanding card mechanism includes an upper case, a lower case, a plastic frame rack, a plastic baffle and an interface joint. The main feature is that two sides of the plastic frame rack form two positioning guiding tracks, respectively, for matching an inside concave slot guiding tracks of the two sides on the lower case and the plastic frame rack is slid well in the lower case until positioning convex blocks of the plastic frame are locked in positioning pinholes of the lower case. Furthermore, the two positioning convex blocks of the plastic baffle matching the two corresponding positioning guiding slots of the plastic frame rack are fixed well to form foolproof protection, and the circuit board and the interface joint are equipped with the lower case.
