Abstract: A device for altering vergence of light to improve human vision of an electronic display. The change in vergence is received at the pupil of the wearer. The altered light effectively recreates the rays emitted by a pixel such that they reach a presbyopic eye as though they were being viewed at a distance (i.e., the rays are substantially parallel). As such, the emmetropic presbyopic eye produces a sharp image of the electronic display. The device comprises: a refractive element that refracts rays, emitted from a pixel of an electronic display, at a predetermined vergence, wherein the refractive element is located directly adjacent or on the electronic display.

Abstract: A system for managing contract payments between a first agent and at least one second agent for a project, via a communications network(s), including: a network server connected to the network(s) which act as central repository for storing and sharing contract information; and, at least one user terminal associated with each of the first and second agents, the terminals being configured to connect to the network(s) for creating, editing, viewing and/or approving the contract information stored on the network server(s). The contract information including: at least one contract which includes at least one contract item entity associated with the project and the second agent, the contract item entity representing a contract item being for a good and/or service provided by the second agent to the first agent in accordance with the contract.

Abstract: Effectively displaying the results of a search, or identifying a specific object in a collection when the user only has a vague recollection of the properties of the object or is uncertain of the best search terms to use, is a difficult problem. To address such difficulties a method for displaying a collection of objects in three dimensions (3D) is described. Each object is represented using an image or icon and has associated metadata. Common metadata attributes such as colour (RGB, Brightness), creation date, title etc, between the objects are used to define a data space and each object is assigned a point in the dataspace. The dataspace is then projected down to a 3D viewing space where a representation or image of the object will be displayed in. To improve the visualisation of the objects, the projected points are adjusted so as to reduce the clustering of points whilst maintaining or preserving the order of the points.

Abstract: A sponsorship method that includes the steps of: a) providing an electronic database including sponsorship opportunity information; b) allowing one or more potential sponsors to gain access to the sponsorship opportunity information, c) enabling the one or more potential sponsors to offer to purchase a sponsorship opportunity; d) using a data processor to determine, using one or more selection criteria, the suitability of the one or more potential sponsors to the sponsorship opportunity; and e) if the offer to purchase the sponsorship opportunity is accepted, using the data processor to generate a sponsorship agreement based on information in the electronic database and/or information entered into the electronic interface by the one or more potential sponsors.

The first wear member includes a boss extending outwardly from one of its opposite sides. The second wear member is mounted adjacent the first wear member. The second wear member includes a socket in one of its sides. The socket is adapted to receive the boss of the first wear member. The second wear member includes a retaining pin passage in communication with the socket. The retaining pin is removably located in the retaining pin passage. The retaining pin has a first bearing face adapted to oppose and engage a face of the boss received in the socket and a second bearing face which bears against a load bearing face of the retaining pin passage.

Abstract: To permit communications between devices using different communication protocols, a mapping device is connected to one or more communication networks, and stores associations between communication addresses as dynamic address mappings. A dynamic address mapping is associated with an initiator address (from which the communication is initiated) and a recipient address (to which a communication is initially addressed) and minimally contains a final address (to which a communication is finally routed). A new dynamic address mapping can be created in response a request, typically from a communication initiator. Communications from the initiator address to the recipient address are routed to the final address, with appropriate format conversion if the protocol of the final address is different to that of the initiator address.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for automatic processing of electronic communications in a networked computer environment. The invention facilitates the appropriate form of translation of the communication to suit the circumstance. The communication is identified as a foreign language communication, a quotation program is optionally applied to calculate the cost of a human translation and a machine translation program is optionally applied to the foreign language communication. The communication, optional quotation and optional machine translation are forwarded to a recipient. The method is transparent to the sender and receiver.

Abstract: A method of ordering a translation of an electronic communication, such as a web page or an email, using a one-click translation component displayed on the web page or in the email. Clicking the one-click translation component automatically requests a translation of the selected communication and returns the communication to the user. The method is controlled by a translation manager that obtains the translation and directs transmission of the translation to the user. A single-click translation system for working the method is also described.
