Abstract: A hair straightening appliance with an adjustable heat plate includes a first handle and a second handle that are configured for relative movement between an open position for receiving hair therebetween and an approximated position for clamping hair. The first handle and the second handle are each configured to impart a straightening effect on hair when clamped. At least one of the first heating plate and the second heating plate are adjustable. When the first heating plate is adjustable, the first heating plate is selectively mounted rigidly with respect to the first housing or in a partially or fully resiliently mounted manner with respect to the first housing, and, when the second heating plate is adjustable, the second heating plate is selectively mounted rigidly with respect to the second housing or in a partially or fully resiliently mounted manner with respect to the second housing.
Abstract: An attachment for a hair styling device including a body and a fan for generating air flow that includes a housing that is generally elongated having a proximal end, a distal end, an open space internally therein and a longitudinal axis. A first set of air emitting openings are arranged in an array that extends in a direction generally longitudinally for emitting air flow. A first manifold is in communication with the first set of air emitting openings. The first manifold is in communication with the housing to direct air flow from the housing to the first set of air emitting openings. The first set of air emitting openings are positioned adjacent to a first curved surface so that air emitted from the first set of air emitting openings is directed generally tangentially with respect to the first curved surface.
