Abstract: The present invention provides a tubular carton sleeve (3) comprising a first sheet (4) superimposed at least in part on a second sheet (6), said first sheet providing an inner wall (4) of said sleeve and said second sheet providing an outer wall (6) of said sleeve, first and second opposing ends of said first and second sheets being interengaged to provide a join, wherein at said join, the first end (16) of said inner wall is in a face to face relationship with the second end (10) of said inner wall and the first end (28) of said outer wall is in a face to face relationship with the second end (12) of said outer wall. A corresponding tubular carton is also disclosed.

Abstract: A blank (2) for a wall of a tubular carton, the blank having a first panel (4) and a second panel (6), whereby with the first panel (4) folded to a face to face relationship with the second panel, the folded blank has a first end including extension to engage the first end with an opposite second end of the folded blank (2). The first panel (4) is connected to the second panel (6) by a connecting part (8) which extends along a portion only of a mutual edge of the first and second panels (4, 6) adjacent the engaging extension (14).

Abstract: The present application discloses a carton (2) which includes a base panel (12) having an outer portion and a side wall (38, 40) that is generally perpendicular to the base panel. The base panel includes a marginal flange (34) that is foldably connected to the outer portion of the base panel, which marginal flange overlies the base panel. The side wall includes a marginal flange that is foldably connected thereto, which side wall marginal flange overlies the base panel marginal flange. The base panel marginal flange is secured to the base panel or to the side wall marginal flange. The invention extends to a one-piece "book-pack" type carton and to corner constructions.

Abstract: A tubular packaging container includes a body (10) which includes a peripheral wall (34) defining top and bottom openings, at least one of which is closed by an end member. The body is formed from at least two panels (20, 30) of a suitable card material cut from flat stock. The panels are secured together in face-to-face relationship by adhesive (32) distributed across the mutually contacting faces thereof. The panels are then curved to the required shape to form a tube with marginal portions (31) of at least one of the panels secured together in overlapping relationship.

Abstract: A carton. The carton includes a rigid body having an open top and a slot formed therein, and a cover member for covering the open top. The cover member includes an outer cover panel hingedly connected to the body at a hinged connection and having an underside; and an inner cover panel folded upon the underside of the outer cover panel to be in face-to-face relation with the underside of the outer cover panel such that an outer edge of the inner cover panel registers with the hinged connection. The inner cover panel further includes, at the outer edge thereof, a locating flap having a tongue slidably received in the slot formed in the body.

Abstract: The peripheral wall of a box is formed as a band with abutting ends (12,13) at a joint (35), the abutting ends being secured together by means of a tongue (26) which is provided at one end of the band entering into a recess (30) provided at the other end of the band. Preferably, the tongue (26) is formed as an extension of a lateral marginal portion (24) of the band-forming material which is folded over the adjacent main portion (11) thereof, and the recess (30) being defined between the folded-over marginal portion (24) and the adjacent portion (11) at the opposite end (12) of the band. Preferably also end portions (16,17) of the band are folded inwardly at the joint (35).
