Abstract: Gold nanoparticles conjugated to polyethylene glycol and active binding molecules such as antibodies, proteins, lectins and DNA are suspended in a water vehicle at concentration from 107 to 1015 and then placed in a sealed container such as a centrifuge tube, and then the centrifuge tube is sealed in a film package that is non-air permeable.
Abstract: An improvement in heterogeneous immunoassays in microtiter plates to significantly reduce assay time, from as much as 50% up to 90% of what used to be typical assay times. The improvement involves the rotation of the liquid in a microtiter plate and during incubation times for antigen capture and during incubation times for sample labeling. This is accomplished through the insertion of fluted cylindrical stirrers in each well, and the use of a conventional, commercially available, microtiter vortexer.
