Abstract: A system is provided which includes a point of sale (POS) terminal (101) equipped with a touch screen display (103) and having a first instance of POS software thereon that renders a first window (105) on the display which is populated with a plurality of interactable objects. A second instance of POS software installed on the POS terminal generates a user selectable object (107a-d) on the display, wherein selection of the user selectable object generates a floating window (109) which occupies a first region of the display and which floats over any objects rendered in the first region by the first POS software.
