Abstract: A firearm, the firearm comprising: a grip; a transparent window located on the rear of the grip; at least one electromagnetic sensor located within the grip, and configured to receive electromagnetic radiation from outside of the grip through the transparent window; a computing device located in the grip and in communication with the LED and the electromagnetic sensor; where the electromagnetic sensor is configured to detect incoming electromagnetic radiation traveling through the transparent window from outside of the grip; and the computing device is configured to allow the firearm to fire if the computing device determines that the incoming electromagnetic radiation corresponds to an authorized user for the firearm.
Abstract: The disclosed invention is a new concept for a network of specialized continuous ambient air sampling systems, which employ a novel non-destructive ionization and separation method, coupled to a near real-time genomic sequencer. The network of preferably pathogen samplers, would constitute a plurality of distributed nodes throughout the world, with bacterial & viral concentration, identification, and mutation data uploaded to the cloud for epidemic/pandemic predictive modeling. The proposed system offers the ability to migrate from outbreak surveillance, to outbreak forecast. In addition, the capability for continuous data of genomic sequencing offers an enhanced capability to help track antigenic drift and antigenic shift. While optimized for viral capture and analysis, any airborne pathogen or spore can be accepted using the technology. Applications include world health monitoring, pandemic prediction, and detection of real-time bioterror pathogen deployment.
Abstract: A system for localized subscriber control of electric provider billing comprising: a digital assistant in communication with powerline sensors, the powerline sensors configured to detect weather, natural disaster, or other event that compromises the electric grid in a given predetermined region, a smart utility box in operational communication with a subscriber's utility connection and in communication with the digital assistant, wherein the smart utility box is configured to disconnect from a utility and stop incurring charges from the utility if the smart utility box determines that utility prices may exceed a threshold value.
Abstract: The disclosed invention mitigates unnecessary electric utility and first responder intervention in the event of a downed electrical cable that may not present a voltage hazard. The disclosed downed power line status indicator invention serves to protect the public while increasing the ability to repair lines damaged due to an unplanned natural calamity or other incident. In the preferred embodiment, the invention can capture the status of a downed line and if it is energized, provide a local visual and audible alarm of hazardous conditions to anyone in the vicinity of the downed line. In addition, the invention can generate a message or notification sent to the utility's operations center. In addition, the disclosed invention perch of the disclosed invention affords capability to capture, store, and disseminate data relating to natural or man-made disasters, RF transmissions, GPS and other navigational data, and for commercial data collection, storage, and dissemination.
Abstract: An electrospray diffusion pump with an upper vacuum chamber coupled to a lower vacuum chamber by a cylinder having an aperture in the upper chamber at the center of a conductive extractor ring. A conductive tube is positioned in the upper chamber and is axially aligned with the conductive extractor ring. The conductive tube is coupled to receive a conductive or semi-conductive spray fluid. A voltage source is coupled between the conductive tube and the extractor ring and adjusted to form a Taylor Cone that provides a jet of charged droplets at the tip of the conductive tube, the charged droplets are attracted to the extractor ring and pass into the aperture, then through the cylinder into the second chamber. The charged droplets have nearly zero vapor pressure and transfer ambient gas at a first pressure from the upper chamber to the lower chamber at a lower pressure.
