  • Patent number: 9998906
Abstract: According to an aspect, a signal is received from a geographic location that is positioned within a space defined by an effective reception range of a short-range wireless communication transceiver. The signal is received from the short-range wireless communication transceiver and the signal includes an identification code. The receiving is by a wireless communication device located within the space. The signal is processed on the wireless communication device. The process includes identifying, based at least in part on the identification code, a retrieval location of information associated with the signal. The processing of the signal is performed exclusively by the wireless communication device and independently of any networks. The information is retrieved from the retrieval location using the wireless communication device.

  • Patent number: 9743229
Abstract: Disclosed is a mobile computing device application or “mobile application” designed to assist users in performing directed searches within defined geographic scope to achieve specific goals within social, ecommerce and collaborative spaces. The Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) is used for data transfer. An Internet-based server is responsible for coordinating all connections between mobile peers. Peer matches are pre-qualified by the server based on available location-based service (LBS) data and other criteria. Short-range wireless communication protocols, such as Bluetooth, radio-frequency identification (RFID), Wibree, UWB (ultra-wideband), WUSB (wireless USB) and WLAN (wireless local area network) connection, are used as a trigger to indicate proximity. Thus, contact between users in close proximity is established without the need for continuous communication between the mobile device and the server.

  • Patent number: 9693190
Abstract: According to an aspect, a method for providing assistance to a user of a mobile device includes receiving a signal from a short-range wireless communication transmitter. The signal includes an identification code, and the receiving is by a mobile device of a user located within the space. The signal is processed on the mobile device and includes: determining whether information associated with the signal is stored on the mobile device; and identifying a retrieval location of the information based on the determining and on the signal. The processing of the signal is performed exclusively by a software application located on the mobile device and independently of any networks. Based on the processing, information that includes an address of a security system is retrieved using the mobile device. The mobile device is monitored for inputs and based on receiving a security request, the security request is transmitted to the security system.

  • Patent number: 9681264
Abstract: An aspect includes a method for providing real time data feeds to a user of a mobile device. A signal that includes an identification code is received by a mobile device from a short-range wireless communication transmitter. The signal is processed on the mobile device. The processing includes determining whether information associated with the signal is stored on the mobile device, and identifying a retrieval location of the information based on the determining and on the signal. The processing the signal is performed exclusively by a software application located on the mobile device and independently of any networks. Based on the processing, information from the retrieval location is retrieved using the mobile device. A real time data feed associated with the identification code is located. The information is displayed on the mobile device and the real time data feed is streamed on the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 9674688
Abstract: According to an aspect, a transceiver includes an antenna, a processing device, and a memory device. The memory device is in communication with the processing device. The memory device stores instructions that when executed by the processing device result in discovering wireless mobile devices within a proximity range of the transceiver; initiating communication between the transceiver and one or more of the wireless mobile devices; and exchanging data with the one or more of the wireless mobile devices.
