  • Patent number: 9206597
Abstract: An improved mortar less masonry structure comprising a plurality of concrete masonry units connected to each other by metal bars and metal threaded fasteners thereby forming a reinforcing skeletal system for a post tensioned structure. The improved system has been developed for use in constructing various types of masonry structures. The improvements of the system feature masonry units with recessed channels, pocket channels, or fully embedded bars as anchors. The bolt acts as the tendon for the post tensioning system which traverse the hollow cavities as ducts. Other new features teach a strong and durable full plate anchor and high strength tendons for defensive and anti-terrorism structures. This is an improved building system that demountably couples each individual masonry unit by a bar and bolt system. This coupling results in stronger, faster, and cheaper construction of masonry structures.

  • Patent number: 8468761
Abstract: An apparatus for a concrete form of an insulated wall has opposed, spaced apart and parallel wall panels, each having an inner surface, upper edge surface and a lower edge surface. Plural retainers are secured within each of the panels at spaced apart intervals, each retainer including a connecting portion extending outwardly from the inner surface of each panel, and an anchoring portion. The anchoring portion includes a framework disposed within the panels, an upper connector extending upwardly from each panel's upper edge surface and a lower connector extending downwardly from each panel's lower edge surface. The upper and lower connectors respectively engage upper and lower connectors of the next vertically adjacent panel to securely attach the panels together. Plural cross webs extends between the panels to tie them together, the cross webs being connection to the connecting portions of opposed retainers in the panels.

  • Patent number: 7174689
Abstract: A concrete anchor float that, in one embodiment, facilitates the placement of anchor bolts that protrude from concrete constructions, such as foundations. The concrete anchor float of the present invention can be used with nearly any conventional anchor bolt to insure the correct placement and alignment of the anchor bolt and to promote a strong bond between the anchor bolt and the concrete. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the concrete anchor float generally comprises a base plate with a hole, and a cap extending from the base plate over the hole. The cap includes a cavity configured to releasably secure the anchor bolt, and a top against which the anchor bolt rests upon insertion. According to an implementation of the present invention, the base plate includes features that minimize voids and air pockets between the anchor bolt and the concrete to promote a strong bond.
