Abstract: Apparatus for joining two edges of a knitted tubular article, especially the toe of a stocking, comprising:--cam means (31,32) for operating the lifting and respectively the lowering of a predetermined number of needles (3,30) of a first and a second semirank of stitches (8,80);--means for removing the stitches (8) from said first semirank (x) and overturning them through 180.degree. about a diametral axis (a--a) of the cylinder (1) of needles (3,30);--cam means (7) for operating the 180.degree.
Abstract: A device for forming, terry knit with a terry yarn and a base yarn for the base fabric. A needle cylinder is provided including a plurality of needles, driven for reciprocating motion. A plurality of sinkers with a high nose for the terry yarn and a plurality of sinkers with a low nose for the base yarn are provided. A high yarn guide for the terry yarn, is provided at a high yarn guide level and a lower yarn guide for the base yarn is provided at a lower level than a level of a surface of the high-nosed sinkers. A fixed annular sinkers housing is provided including a fixed cam profile to control radial movement of the high-nosed sinkers. The cam profile has an area of centrifugal retraction substantially symmetrical with respect to a feeding position of the high yarn guide and the lower yarn guide. An angularly mobile annular sinkers housing is provided for controlling radial movement of the low-nosed sinkers.
Abstract: To produce pattern work and plain jersey, and comprising sets of selection levers for controlling needles which are to be lifted to a higher loop-clearing height and to a lower loop-retaining height, interacting with oscillating selectors, the machine comprises in combination: symmetrical lifting cams (20, 32); symmetrical lowering cams (441; 442; 443; 444) and corresponding counter cams (461; 462; 463; 464) defining two adjacent zones of maximum lowering; pushing cams (490) arranged between these two zones, to exclude the butts of the needles from the action of the secon zone of maximum lowering; symmetrically arranged pushing realignment cams (501A, 501B; 502A, 502B; 503A, 503B; 504A, 504B and 511A, 511B; 512A, 512B; 513A, 513B; 514A, 514B), to prepare all the butts in a row of butts of selectors for selection; partial-lowering cams (20C) to predispose for selection; and cams (701; 703) for the partial re-lifting of selectors of unlifted needles, and for their realignment with the selectors of needles previ
