  • Publication number: 20180105126
Abstract: A method for detecting a rollover on the basis of a signal of an acceleration sensor in the direction of the vertical axis of the vehicle is described, wherein the time period in which acceleration lies within a specified range is assessed. For this purpose, a counter and a clock generator are provided, wherein the counter is incremented each clock pulse if acceleration lies within a specified range, and the counter is decremented maximally to the value of zero if acceleration lies outside of a specified range. An emergency call may be triggered if a specified counter reading is reached. Additionally, a maximum speed may be specified in the travel direction above which the counter or the triggering is not active.

  • Patent number: 9945315
Abstract: A method for determining a reference current curve for a fuel injector having a magnetic coil drive in an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle includes: (a) applying a first voltage pulse to the magnetic coil drive to open the fuel injector, (b) applying a holding voltage to the magnetic coil drive to hold the fuel injector open, (c) switching off the holding voltage, (d) waiting for substantially no current to flow through the magnetic coil drive for a predetermined time period that is sufficiently short that the fuel injector remains open, (e) applying a second voltage pulse to the magnetic coil drive, and (f) recording a time-based curve of the current that flows through the magnetic coil drive during the second voltage pulse, which forms the reference current curve. This reference current curve is used for determining a time of a predetermined opening state of the fuel injector.

  • Patent number: 9946269
Abstract: A method for operating a switch valve which opens and closes a fluid line is disclosed. The switch valve is actuated by a pulse width modulated signal. The switch valve is actuated outside of the active operating time of the switch valve using PWM signals with an increasing or decreasing duty cycle. The duty cycle in which the switch valve is opened is determined, and the duty cycle corresponding to the opening time is then used to actuate the switch valve to open and close the switch valve during the active operating time of same. In this manner, the switch valve can be actuated in a particularly precise manner.

  • Patent number: 9942165
Abstract: A method for transmitting data in a packet-oriented communications network, in particular of a motor vehicle and to a user terminal configured for carrying out the method. In the method, data packets are transmitted without a guaranteed transmission time for the data packets and with a guaranteed maximum transmission time for the data packets in said communications network. For a data transmission with a guaranteed transmission time, a specific quality of service is reserved prior to the data transmission by reservation request from the sender of the data to the receiver of the data and the data transmission with a guaranteed transmission time is only started once a confirmation of the reservation request sent by the sender has been received. In addition, selected data that is to be transmitted in a guaranteed transmission time is sent directly as a data stream of data packets and a reservation request is sent after the start of the data stream.

  • Publication number: 20180096474
Abstract: A method for detecting contaminations on a lens of a vehicle camera. Transition values are assigned to pixels of image frames. Three-dimensional coordinates are assigned to the pixels by using a simplified model of the scene. Using the assigned coordinates and movement data, trajectories are assigned to the pixels. An expectation value is derived from a transition value of a starting pixel of a trajectory and a satisfied transition value is derived from transition values along the trajectory. The expectation value and the satisfied transition value are accumulated over time, and a cleanliness value is derived from a ratio of the accumulated satisfied transition value to the accumulated expectation value.
