  • Patent number: 6892655
Abstract: A drum transport device is disclosed which includes a plate, a first and a second pair of connected and vertically spaced horizontal bars a pair on opposite sides of the row of drums. Each bar has an end which is connected to the plate. The device includes middle horizontal bars, a first between the first pair of horizontal bars and a second between the second pair. The middle horizontal bars move in unison with one another and to move relative to the first and second pair bars. The device also includes a plurality of vertically oriented hinge doors, pivotably connected to the horizontal bars. Tie rods are pivotably connected to both the hinge doors and a corresponding middle horizontal bar, such that when a middle bar is moved relative the pairs of horizontal bars, the hinge doors swing to a position substantially parallel to or substantially parallel to the bars.

  • Patent number: 6854319
Abstract: A closure assembly is described which includes a plurality of inflatable seals, a sliding door, and a frame configured to allow said door to slide back and forth therein. The sliding door includes a first portion having an opening therethrough and a second solid portion. The door further include a plurality of grooves, one plurality encircling the opening in the first portion and second plurality encircling the second portion. The inflatable seals are configured to fit into at least one of the grooves encircling each portion. The frame has a middle opening which can be aligned with the first portion of the door for allowing objects to pass through. The frame also has a top opening and a bottom opening which allows changing of the inflatable seals without removing the door from the frame. The assembly provides for a sealing of either portion of the door around the middle opening of the frame.

  • Patent number: 6807916
Abstract: Systems and methods for pyrolyzing waste materials are described. The method utilizes waste heat from a cement kiln and the pyrolysis system includes at least a feed inerting section and a pyrolysis chamber. The method includes feeding drums of waste into the feed inerting section, replacing oxygen in the feed inerting section with carbon dioxide recovered from the cement kiln, and transporting the drums of waste through the pyrolysis chamber. The waste is pyrolyzed in the pyrolysis chamber with exhaust gasses from the cement kiln and a fuel gas created by the pyrolysis is routed to provide heat to the cement kiln.

  • Patent number: 5269234
Abstract: A method for utilizing landfill-prohibited solid hazardous waste material as an energy source in a cement kiln is provided. The method comprises obtaining landfill-prohibited solid hazardous waste materials suitable for use in a cement kiln, combining the solid waste materials with a liquid fuel in a milling apparatus to form a mixture, grinding the mixture in the milling apparatus in a manner reducing the particulate size of the solid hazardous waste material to form a fuel slurry, and delivering the fuel slurry directly into the flame of the cement kiln. The grinding of the solid hazardous waste material in the milling apparatus prior to its introduction into the kiln provides for a rapid and instantaneous ignition of the solid hazardous waste materials thereby not adversely affecting the forming clinker or the operating parameters of the kiln.
