  • Patent number: 9988963
Abstract: A method for monitoring an oxidation catalysis device or DOC arranged in an exhaust line of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, in a predetermined range of inlet (2) and outlet (3) temperatures of the DOC, includes injecting predetermined successive quantities of fuel in stages (5, 6) into the inlet of the DOC, recording the outlet (3) temperature of the DOC after each injected quantity of fuel, recording the total quantity injected for a given stage, for which the outlet temperature (3) of the DOC begins to decrease, determining a characterization of the DOC monitored, then comparing this characterization with a test characterization of a similar DOC which has been established beforehand in order to determine a threshold degradation of the DOC monitored that is not to be exceeded.

  • Patent number: 9988829
Abstract: A method of calibrating a standby duration (DV?) of a proximity detection sensor, the sensor alternating between measurement phases (PM), the evaluation duration (DE) of which is measured by a first oscillator (O1) of stable frequency and standby phases (PV), the predetermined standby duration (DV) of which is controlled by a second oscillator (O2), the frequency of which varies according to external parameters. The method provides for performing immediately after the measurement phase (PM), a second measurement phase (PM2) during which a second evaluation duration (DE2) is measured by the second oscillator (O2) and calibrating the standby duration (DV?) using the ratio between the number of oscillations (N1?) generated during the evaluation duration (DE) by the first oscillator (O1) and the number of oscillations (N2?) generated during the second evaluation duration (DE2) by the second oscillator (O2).

  • Patent number: 9989028
Abstract: A pressure limiting valve for a fuel injection system may include a sleeve, a fixing pin, a spring, a sealing element, and a seat. The sleeve may have a longitudinal axis. The fixing pin protruding through a cavity enclosed by the sleeve. The spring may have a first end supported on the sleeve and a second end supported by the sealing element. The seat may provide a sealing surface for the sealing element to block a fluid flow through the valve when closed position, and allow this flow to pass in other positions. The outer circumference of the sleeve may vary within predefined tolerances along the longitudinal axis. The fixing pin may be shaped to plastically deform by a movement of the fixing pin along the longitudinal axis, in order to press the sleeve into the housing.

  • Patent number: 9988040
Abstract: A method prevents the stalling of the engine of a hybrid vehicle (1) equipped with an auxiliary motor (4) and wheels (R1 to R4), pistons (2a to 2d), tank (3), axle (5), drive shaft (6), gearbox (7), connections (8a, 8b), and computer (9). The method uses an estimate of the predicted instantaneous speed of the main engine (2) at its next top dead center, for the purpose of assisting the main engine in a stall situation, via the auxiliary motor which can supply sufficient power to it on a one-off basis to prevent it from stopping. The method defines two levels of instantaneous speed. If the predicted instantaneous speed is located in the intervention zone between the two levels, the auxiliary motor assists the rotation of the main engine to enable it to rotate in the same direction, without stalling.

  • Publication number: 20180150430
Abstract: An integrated circuit includes a reception port an address port, and a memory with a number of memory sections for storing activation information. The number of memory sections is equal to the number, encodable by the address port, of activatable integrated circuits that are operable over a common bus. A control unit is configured to compare the address encoded by the address port with an address received at the reception port. The control unit writes a defined bit pattern to the memory section associated with the address in the event of a positive comparison, and withholds transmission of a negative acknowledgement signal in the event of a negative comparison. The integrated circuit is configured to be activated by the defined bit pattern in the memory section that corresponds to the address defined at the address port, for communicating with a microprocessor connected to the integrated circuit via the common bus.

  • Publication number: 20180149543
Abstract: A method according to the invention for checking the plausibility of the function of a pressure sensor in an injection system of an internal combustion engine includes acquiring a calibrated actuation profile, by which peak current values for opening at least one electrically actuatable injection valve are assigned to existing internal pressures. An existing internal pressure is measured in the form of an actual sensor pressure value by the pressure sensor. The method includes obtaining the electrical peak current value corresponding to the measured sensor pressure value from a calibrated actuation profile, such that the corresponding electrical peak current value acquired in this way is applied to the injection valve. Subsequently, an opening state of the injection valve is monitored in reaction to the applied electrical peak current value, and a functional state of the pressure sensor is assigned as a function of the opening state of the injection valve.
