Patent number: 6373961Abstract: An eye controllable screen pointer system is provided that combines eye gaze tracking and screen tracking from the point of view of the user. Screen tracking is performed by a screen tracking camera, attached to a helmet the user is wearing. The screen tracking camera is aided by either light emitted from screen beacon located near the screen, or by a light pattern emitted from the screen itself as a screen beacon signal. The screen tracking means provides a screen tracking signal. Eye gaze tracking is performed as is known in the art, or according to a novel way described herein. An eye gaze tracking means is attached to the helmet, and provides an eye tracking signal. The information carried in the screen tracking signal and in the eye tracking signal are combined in a calculation by a processing means residing in a processor to produce a point of computed gaze on the screen.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 1998Date of Patent: April 16, 2002Assignee: Eye Control Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Jim Richardson, Gregory T. Patent number: 5600714Abstract: A speaker telephone for use with a two wire telephone system and incorporating an audio input circuit for receiving an audio signal to be transmitted over a conventional two-wire telephone system is disclosed. A transmitted signal processing circuit for receiving the audio signal and altering the audio characteristics provides the altered audio signal at the output of the signal processing circuit to the input of the two wire telephone system. A first line hybrid echo canceler is coupled to receive the output of the transmitted signal processing circuit and produce a plurality of first echo outputs in response to the transmitted signal processing circuit output and has a first error signal input. A first difference circuit has an input of first polarity and is coupled to the output of the input coupling circuit, and inputs of opposite polarity coupled to the echo outputs of the first line hybrid echo canceler.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 1994Date of Patent: February 4, 1997Assignee: Sound Control Technologies, Inc.Inventors: William G. Patent number: 5449209Abstract: A portable and separable door blocking device functioning as a positive locking unit for a door to prevent its opening from the outside. The device includes an over-center locking unit with levers having members to block and lock a door by exerting forces in opposite directions. One lever includes a section positionable under a door and an upright section to abut with the side of the door. The second lever has at least one, reversible, downwardly and angularly disposed floor contacting member. When the unit is in locked, over-center position, the angularly disposed member prevents door movement and attempts to open the door will increase the holding force. Patent number: 5442177Abstract: A dusk delay system for outdoor motion detection provides the benefits of dusk to dawn, timed, and motion detection control. A dusk to dawn type sensor detects the onset of darkness and turns on the lights for a predetermined duration of time. Once the duration of time expires, the lights will be shut off. Subsequently, motion within the monitored area will be detected by a motion detector and cause the light to be turned on for a selectably predetermined amount of time. The timer can randomize the actual time in which the lighting controller shuts off the light and goes into the motion detection mode. A latch mechanism disables the operation of the system upon momentary interruption of the power.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 1994Date of Patent: August 15, 1995Assignee: Pace Control Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Charles A. Patent number: 5211371Abstract: The invention comprises a linearly actuated valve which includes a valve body, a valve seal linearly movable with respect to the body between closed and open positions, a spring and a shape memory alloy wire. The spring both biases the valve toward the closed position, and forms a part of the electrical circuit providing current to the shape memory alloy wire. The valve seal may be accurately positioned between the closed position and the open position by applying a pulse frequency modulated electrical current to the spring and the shape memory alloy wire. The electrical circuit is continuously closed and is comprised entirely of electrical conductors having no sliding electrical contacts to eliminate arcing and sparking.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1991Date of Patent: May 18, 1993Assignee: Advanced Control Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Curtis L. Patent number: 5172410Abstract: A speaker telephone comprising a microphone outputting an electrical signal, and a loudspeaker is disclosed. An amplifier has its output coupled to the loudspeaker. This amplifier has non-inverting and inverting inputs. A switch having two positions couples the microphone to the amplifier or couples the tuning signal source to one of the inputs of the amplifier. A tuning signal source and control circuit output a tuning signal. Initiation means initiates a tuning sequence by causing the switch to be in the second position and causing the tuning signal source and control circuit to generate tuning signals. A coupling device is connected to one of the inputs of the amplifier and adopted to be connected to a telephone circuit. A hybrid voltage generator circuit is responsive to the output of the microphone when the switch couples the microphone to the amplifier to generate at its output a cancellation signal which prevents transmitted voice signals from appearing at the loudspeaker.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 1990Date of Patent: December 15, 1992Assignee: Sound Control Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Artner B.
