Patent number: 6898331Abstract: A contrast-based image fusion system and method of processing multiple images to form a processed or fused image including regions selected from one or more images. Images are divided into image regions. Portions of the images are filtered if necessary. A contrast map is generated for each image via a convolution kernel resulting in a contrast map with contrast values for each image region. Contrast values are compared and image regions are selected based on a selection criteria or process such as greater or maximum contrast. The selected image regions form the fused image. If necessary, the luminance of one or more portions of the fused image is adjusted. One sensor is selected as a reference sensor, and an average intensity of each region of the reference sensor image is determined across the reference sensor image. The intensity of one or more regions in the final image is adjusted by combining the determined average luminance values and intensity values of the final image.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2002Date of Patent: May 24, 2005Assignee: BAE Systems Aircraft Controls, Inc.Inventor: Carlo Tiana

Publication number: 20050052872Abstract: A zoom lens system includes a motor driven lens assembly that is movable on a track in a normal movement range for adjusting the light beam range angle of a luminaire. A pair or doors are pivoted to opposite sides of the frame of the lens assembly and are normally biased to an inactive position where the doors are parallel to and outside of the light path in the luminaire. The doors hold optical media such as diffuser gels. The lens assembly can be moved beyond the normal movement range to an actuation position where projections on the doors engage actuation abutments adjacent the track to move the doors to an active position overlying the lens with the optical media in the light path. A latch holds the door in the active position. The lens assembly can be moved beyond the actuation position to a deactivation position where a deactivation abutment releases the latch freeing the doors to return to the inactive positions.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 5, 2003Publication date: March 10, 2005Applicant: Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc.Inventor: Jeffrey de Peralta

Publication number: 20050047147Abstract: A shutter section includes a stack of circular plates independently rotatable in a nest formed as a laminar formation of rings. The plates have central openings defining a light path. Four central plates in the stack are shutter guide plates with radial guide slots slideably holding shutter blades. Two outer pairs of plates are shutter drive plates connected by cams to the shutter blades. Simultaneous rotation of a shutter guide plate and associated shutter drive plate causes rotation of an associated shutter blade around the light path. Rotation of a shutter drive plate while the associated shutter guide plate is stationary causes the cam to move the associated shutter blade radially. The nest is enclosed by end plates. A motor section has motors driving pinions to rotate the circular plates. The circular plates, rings pinions and shutter blades are made of sheet metal.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2003Publication date: March 3, 2005Applicant: Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc.Inventors: David Gennrich, Sheldon Roberts

Patent number: 6851653Abstract: A system for supporting loads includes a track having uniformly spaced apertures separated by necks. A bracket is mounted on the track and has two groups of studs which are positioned in the necks and prevent the bracket from pulling away from the track. Neighboring studs in both groups have identical center-to-center spacings. Two plugs pass through holes in the bracket and into respective ones of the apertures. The plugs fix the bracket against movement relative to the track longitudinally and transversely of the latter. The distance between a plug hole and any stud equals one-half the center-to-center spacing of neighboring studs of a group or an integral multiple of one-half such spacing. A locking member passes through an additional hole in the bracket and frictionally engages the track to prevent the plugs from pulling out of the respective apertures during an impact.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2003Date of Patent: February 8, 2005Assignee: AGM Container Controls, Inc.Inventors: Robert O. Patent number: 6849943Abstract: A heat sink with fins has a flat, planar surface soldered to a metallic layer at one surface of a flat, planar ceramic layer. The opposite surface of the ceramic layer has a metallic pattern including base areas for high power, high frequency load switching MOSFETs. Lead frames are soldered between the lead frame base areas and base contact areas of the MOSFET packages. Thermal conduction between the MOSFETs and the heat sink dissipates the heat from switching losses. A gate drive circuit board for the load switching system is supported spaced from the and is separated from the MOSFETs by a thermally blocking air gap, with the component side of the gate drive circuit board facing away from the MOSFETs. Spade terminals of the lead frames extend through openings in the gate drive circuit board to route high power signals independently of the gate driver circuit board.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2003Date of Patent: February 1, 2005Assignee: Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc.Inventors: John P. Patent number: 6847291Abstract: An apparatus operable in a wet environment for detecting the presence or absence of water in a non-conductive vessel, by measuring changes in dielectric constant and detecting the temperature of water in same vessel. A conductive element coupled to a sensing and switching means, transmits data to the controller, resulting from a change of dielectric constant at the conductive element. A temperature sensor detects and transmits temperature signals to the controller. A controller means receives data, from the dielectric constant sensor means and temperature data from the temperature sensor. Includes a coupling means which transmits data from the controller to an external device. The isolation means electrically isolates the conductive element and temperature sensor means from the water contained in a non-conductive vessel.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2001Date of Patent: January 25, 2005Assignee: Sequence Controls Inc.Inventor: William Harry Kemp

Patent number: 6846284Abstract: Reciprocal noise cancellation of a patient's mono-frequency tinnitus tone is achieved utilizing an externally generated tone which is subjectively defined by a mono-frequency tinnitus patient to match his/her tinnitus tone in frequency and amplitude. An externally generated sound wave, selectively designated by subjective observations of a patient to match the patient's tinnitus tone is first applied to the tinnitus patient via earphones or a speaker system and then the same externally generated sound wave is sequentially phase shifted through a plurality of angularly shifted sequence steps to shift or slide the external sound wave through at least a 180 degree phase shift of the generated signal as it is applied to the patient to achieve a series of reductions of the patient's tinnitus tone and in one of such shifted steps a reciprocal, canceling relationship with the patient's tinnitus tone.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2002Date of Patent: January 25, 2005Assignee: Tinnitus Control, Inc.Inventor: Daniel S.
