Abstract: A computing architecture, system and method are disclosed for use in a medical device for providing decision support to a caregiver. The computing architecture includes a memory, a processor in communication with the memory, and an instance of a primary rules-based service configured to provide instruction events, the instance providing a primary processing thread of instruction events for coaching treatment of a patient. A software manager module includes an artificial intelligence architecture. The artificial intelligence architecture is configured to provide an instance of a conditional rules-based service for providing instruction events. The instance provided by the artificial intelligence architecture provides a processing thread of instruction events for coaching treatment of a patient that is independent of the primary processing thread and is configured to trigger an action on the occurrence of a pre-defined set of input conditions.

Abstract: A hammer union includes a female sub; a male sub; and a wing nut that is concentrically disposed about the female and male subs. The wing nut includes a body having first and second end surfaces, and an exterior surface extending therebetween; a passage extending through the body from the first to second end surface that defines an interior surface of the body; an internal shoulder formed by the interior surface; an internal threaded connection that extends from the first end surface and towards the internal shoulder; and lugs extending radially from the exterior surface. The body has a wall thickness defined between the interior and exterior surfaces, with a greater wall thickness at the internal shoulder than at the first end surface; the internal threaded connection has a full-root radius; and a lug that extends along the axial length of the body.
Abstract: A battery module heating assembly for a battery module having a plurality of battery cells arranged in a frame with the cell terminals being connected to one another via busbars. The busbars are covered by the heating assembly. The heating assembly includes at least one thermally conductive pad in contact with one or more heat spreader plates. The heat spreader plates have heating elements attached thereto.
Abstract: A flowmeter includes an orifice plate assembly having a carrier that includes an aperture, an annular rim disposed about the aperture, and an annular ledge extending radially inward from the rim to the aperture. An orifice plate and annular seal are disposed within the annular rim. The plate engages the ledge and is retained on the carrier by a retaining ring and the energized annular seal. The seal is disposed in a seal gland formed between the orifice plate, the carrier, and the ring member, and sealingly engages at least one surface of each.

Abstract: A lift assembly comprises a base, a drive mechanism, a flexible drive element extending from the drive mechanism along a fleet axis, and a sheave directing the drive element from the fleet axis to an output axis. The sheave is coupled to the base at a first sheave mount aligned with the fleet axis. The assembly can further include a second sheave mount aligned with the fleet axis and configured to be coupled to the sheave to allow the sheave to be de-coupled from the first sheave mount and coupled to the second sheave mount, resulting in substantially no change in a fleet angle of the fleet axis. Preferably, the sheave is positioned on a first side of the fleet axis when coupled to the first sheave mount, and the sheave is positioned on a second side of the fleet axis (e.g., opposite the first side) when coupled to the second sheave mount.
Abstract: A power supply for a gate driver circuit is provided. The power supply is configured to supply a logic voltage, a positive voltage and a negative voltage to the gate driver circuit such that a gated semiconductor driven by the gate driver circuit does not inadvertently turn on. The gate driver power supply is configured such that the logic voltage becomes a steady-state voltage prior to the positive voltage becoming a steady-state voltage and remains above a first voltage value until the positive voltage is less than a second voltage value.
Abstract: An insect extermination device that draws air from outside an exterminator housing into the exterminator housing through an air inlet, heats the air, and forces the heated air out of the exterminator housing through an air outlet.
Abstract: A system for extracting landfill gas from a landfill is provided. According to some embodiments, a control system for landfill gas extraction is provided. The control system uses a throttle to control flow of landfill gas extracted from the landfill. The throttle is actuated in use to vary the flow of gas between a well and a gas collection system, in accordance with a control algorithm that adjusts flow as a parameter in controlling gas extraction. The throttle is configured to ensure that there is at least some flow of landfill gas from the landfill to a gas output throughout operation. The extraction system provides an efficient system for landfill gas extraction, while mitigating a risk of creating undesired or unpleasant conditions and/or of violating regulations during operation.
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for ultrasonic measurement of the average diameter and roundness profile of a tube. A roundness algorithm represents the angular dependence of the tube surface profile as a sum of Fourier components, each component being a harmonic representing an integer number of undulations per revolution, with “0” (the first harmonic) corresponds to an average circle associated with the tube outer surface. A calibration block is used to calibrate the first harmonic, representing the average tube diameter.

Abstract: An apparatus according to which a subterranean formation in which a wellbore extends is hydraulically fractured, the apparatus comprising first and second manifolds, the first manifold including first and second flow lines adapted to be in fluid communication with first and second pumps, respectively, the first pump being adapted to pressurize fluid received from the first flow line, and the second pump being adapted to pressurize fluid received from the second flow line, and the second manifold including a third flow line adapted to convey pressurized fluid from the first and second pumps to the wellbore to hydraulically fracture the subterranean formation in which the wellbore extends. The apparatus is adapted to be connected to another apparatus used to hydraulically fracture the subterranean formation in which the wellbore extends by moving one, or both, of the first and second flow lines relative to the third flow line.

Abstract: A system and method for reducing the data transmitted from an energy management system is described. The system and method include a critical event evaluator receiving data from a plurality of data sources, where the critical event evaluator monitors the data for critical events requiring immediate transmission to a monitoring center. A schedule comb and a delta comb receive the data from the plurality of data sources, the schedule comb operable to reduce the data according to data schedule rules stored in a data definition database and the delta comb reduce the data by eliminating data values that have not changed since a previous transmission. The schedule comb and delta comb produce a reduced data set. A queue stores the reduced data set, which is transmitted when the queue reaches a trigger size or a critical event is found.
