  • Patent number: 10196878
Abstract: Embodiments of machines, systems, computer-implemented methods, and computer program products certify oil and gas well equipment. Embodiments identify a selected well equipment device, a device test specification, and testing sequences to be performed by a corresponding testing apparatus. Embodiments select a testing sequence responsive to the selected device. Embodiments control the testing apparatus for the selected testing sequence so that the corresponding testing apparatus performs the sequence responsive to the device test specification. Embodiments generate testing data for the selected testing sequence and link the testing data for the selected testing sequence to the device identifier for the device so that a certificate can be generated. Embodiments generate a certificate for the selected device responsive to the testing sequences having been performed upon the selected device and link the certificate for the selected device to the device identifier so that the certificate can be readily recalled.

  • Patent number: 10190698
Abstract: A solenoid operated valve includes a valve block defining a valve lumen, a poppet slidably disposed within the valve lumen, a solenoid including a core defining a core lumen aligned with the valve lumen, and an armature assembly. The armature assembly includes an armature disc, an armature guide having a hollow cylindrical body defining an armature guide passage, and an armature stud disposed within the armature guide passage. The armature stud is in communication with the poppet so that axial movement of one is translated into axial movement of the other. The valve further includes a coil cover enclosing the solenoid, and a guard disposed to prevent contact between the armature assembly and an adjacent component of the valve. A method of assembling a solenoid operated valve includes placing a shim between the armature disc and the core, and pressurizing and energizing the valve.

  • Publication number: 20190025052
Abstract: A system for detecting a position of an object includes a position sensor and a demodulator. The position sensor receives a first excitation signal, senses a displacement of the object with respect to a reference point based on the first excitation signal, and generates first and second sense signals based on the first excitation signal. The demodulator receives the first sense signal and the second sense signal from the position sensor, performs a first cross-correlation calculation between the first sense signal and a second excitation signal and a second cross-correlation calculation between the second sense signal and the second excitation signal, determines displacement of the object with respect to the reference point based on results of the first and second cross-correlation calculations, and determine a position of the object based on the displacement.

  • Patent number: 10182965
Abstract: Time after time studies find that often, even when administered by trained professionals, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) compression rates and depth are inadequate. Too week, shallow or too forceful compressions may contribute to suboptimal patient outcome. Several parameters are crucial for optimal and properly-administered CPR. Crucial parameters include proper hand positioning on the patient's chest, depth of compression of 4-5 cm, and compression rate of 100 compressions per minute. The crucial parameters are often affected by patient parameters, and relative to the patient, rescuer parameters, such as patient thoracic volume; weight; age; gender; and rescuer's, relative to the patient's, parameters, such as weight, height; physical form, etc. Proposed is an automated CPR feedback device with user programmable settings for assisting with real-time feedback and subsequently correcting rescuers patient customized CPR technique.

  • Patent number: 10159846
Abstract: A defibrillator system optimizes the timing and manner of applying a defibrillator charge to a patient based upon data provided to the defibrillator from a utility module or one or more external devices. A parameter module on the utility module provides the defibrillator with patient parameter information. Devices external to the utility module may provide the utility module with coaching data that the utility module may pass through to the defibrillator as a proxy to the external devices. The utility module may also provide external devices with patient data that the utility module may pass through to the external devices as a proxy to the defibrillator on a scheduled or other basis. The utility module may additionally provide a reserve of power to enable defibrillators to be used where power is unavailable and to enable defibrillators to deliver multiple charges more readily anywhere, anytime.

  • Publication number: 20180359321
Abstract: A networking thermostat is described that includes a main processor and a communications processor. The main processor includes a network manager function, a master messaging function and a slave messaging function while the communications processor includes a wireless radio enabling the thermostat to communicate with other networking thermostats. The networking thermostat is able to operate in a master mode or a slave mode, where the master mode allows the networking thermostat to act as a main gateway between other networking thermostats and a remote server. When in the master mode the networking thermostat can default to a slave if communication with the remote server is lost, thereby allowing one of the other networking thermostats to become a master.

  • Publication number: 20180337822
Abstract: Method and system for assigning addresses to end point devices in a network includes placing a mobile device in close proximity to a first end point device and establishing a wireless connection, transmitting an auto-addressing command from the mobile device to the end point device in response to the connection being established and disconnecting the connection in response to the end point device being configured with the network address. As the mobile device is moved through the system, when the wireless signal strength between the mobile device and a respective the end point device exceeds a threshold, both devices recognize that they are in close proximity and the mobile device transfers the address configuration information to the end point device. By moving the mobile device through the system the steps are automatically repeated until the mobile device assigns address and location information to each end point device on the network.
