Abstract: An apparatus is provided with an ambiguous keystroke disambiguation and/or word autocompletion text editor application that uses a common language dictionary. The apparatus is also provided with one or more lexica that contain a vocabulary relating to a specific subject matter. The ambiguous keystroke disambiguation and/or word autocompletion text editor application uses one or more of the lexica in combination with a language dictionary for ambiguous keystroke disambiguation and/or word autocompletion text editing. The user can determine which of the lexica are to be used by the ambiguous keystroke disambiguation and/or word autocompletion text editor application. The user can also determine the priority with which the lexica are used. The lexica can be downloaded to the apparatus from the Internet or transferred from any other device that the apparatus is connected to and the lexica that are stored on the apparatus can be edited by a user.

Abstract: A method for implementing a multimedia messaging service between a terminal that communicates with a network over a radio path and a server includes receiving a multimedia message addressed to the terminal at the server. The multimedia message includes at least one multimedia component. A notification message is transmitted over the radio path to the terminal to indicate that a multimedia message is available for retrieval from the server. The notification message includes the information on at least one property of the multimedia component. The notification message is received at the terminal, whereupon a bearer is selected for transferring the multimedia component over the radio path on the basis of the property data conveyed by the notification message. The multimedia component is transferred from the server to the terminal over the radio path using the bearer selected by the terminal.

Abstract: A method, system, mobile device, apparatus and computer program product are provided for accurately determining whether one or more rights objects associated with a mobile device are valid. In particular, a secure time source (e.g., DRM clock or time) may be maintained by the mobile device and used to check the validity of the one or more rights objects. In order to ensure that the secure time source or clock remains accurate, the mobile device may update the secure time source by regularly requesting and receiving the DVB-H network time from a DVB-H network entity. Because the DVB-H network time is secure, accurate and readily accessible, it provides an ideal tool for correcting possible drift in the mobile device's secure time source.

Abstract: A method for reporting a streaming quality is shown, wherein at least one continuous media stream is streamed to a client (601), and wherein the streaming is controlled by a protocol (109) that is operated between the client (601) and a server (600), the method including selecting at least one quality metric and a quality metrics class from a pre-defined set of at least two quality metrics classes, and reporting to the server (600) the quality of the streaming based on the at least one selected quality metric and the selected quality metrics class. The protocol (109) is preferably a Real-time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) in combination with a Session Description Protocol (SDP) in the context of the 3GPP Packet-Switched Streaming Service (PSS). Abstract: An approach is provided for suggesting data for deletion from an electronic data storage medium. An external device detects initiation of transfer of data from first storage medium to second storage medium. Next, the external device determines an available storage in the second storage medium for the data. Then, the external device generates a list to suggest content for deletion within the second storage medium to accommodate the data.

Abstract: A method and apparatus includes a determining unit configured to determine whether a device entering a network should be allowed access and an executing unit configured to execute a configuration protocol between the registrar and the device and to a shared unique configuration key between the registrar and the device. If the device provides a privileged service, the configuration protocol enables the device to advertise the privileged service or if the device is a control point, the configuration protocol enables the device to advertise that it is able to control certain privileged services. The registrar also includes a controlling unit configured to obtain a controller key, if the registrar is to become controller of the new device and a service unit configured to execute a credential service that allows devices providing privileged services to delegate issuing of access control credentials to the registrar, wherein other devices may use the credential service to obtain credentials for privileged services.

Abstract: The invention provides for the communicating and editing of media files in wireless portable devices. The invention enables a user to manipulate displayed media content and other types of information stored in a personal media device. A master device may be coupled to a display device such as a television display and bonded to a slave device. A user may through use of either the slave device or the master device manipulate media content. The modified media content may be displayed substantially simultaneously on the television display, the master device, and the at least one slave device.

Abstract: Because the current RRC: ACTIVE SET UPDATE message presently used in soft handover does not contain HS-DSCH related information, which could be utilized for a Serving HS-DSCH cell change, a separate Radio Bearer Control procedure is needed between the UE (10) and the RNC (20) for carrying out the Serving HS-DSCH cell change. Should HS-DSCH related information—applicable to Serving HS-DSCH cell change—be added to the RRC: ACTIVE SET UPDATE message (32), an unnecessary Radio Bearer Control procedure is avoided, and the drawbacks of the current method are overcome.

Abstract: An approach is provided for determining device compatibility using alerts and information spaces. A link redirector receives a request from a device for a required type of service. The link redirector alerts the device compatibility service and the export control interface about the potential request or stores the request information in an information space while searching for a suitable service for the device. Therefore, the device compatibility service and the export control interface can start preparing information about device compatibility and export control before the information is requested by the service determined.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for distributing and/or receiving buffer content advertisements continuously to and/or from a plurality of neighboring peer apparatuses joined in a network are described. The buffer content advertisements identify the stored packets of data in a packet buffer. The continuously distributed and/or received buffer content advertisements may include incremental updates of content of the packet buffer piggybacked to every outgoing and/or incoming packet of data. The apparatus may determine packets of data advertised by a plurality of neighboring peers that the apparatus does not have in its packet buffer, and may request packets of data, of the advertised packets, from at least one of the plurality of neighboring peers. The apparatus may include a communication module to communicate buffer content advertisements continuously to the plurality of neighboring peers.

Abstract: A remote control framework enables a plurality of target devices to be controlled by a plurality of remote control devices irrespective of bearer types. In a preferred embodiment any target device may also act as a control device and any control device may also act as a target device. The framework also enables any application running on any target device to be controlled by any controller device.

Abstract: A communication method, comprising the steps of a sender 21 sending a message comprising at least one streamable component and information describing it to a communication server MMSC and the communication server responsively sending to a receiver 24 a notification message to notify about the availability of the streamable component. The notification message is a multimedia message comprising the description for the streamable component. The communication server MMSC and the receiver form a streaming session for transferring the streamable component using the information describing the streamable component. The communication server MMSC then streams the streamable component to the receiver 24 in sequential sub-parts in the streaming session. Abstract: An apparatus, method and computer program product are provided for filtering media files for inclusion in a user's profile. A user may define rules to prevent certain media files from being included in his/her profile and, if desired, to redirect the media files to another individual's profile. The recommendation service, itself, may further generate rules to be used to filter the media files. When a media file that meets one of the rules defined by the user, or automatically by the service, is consumed in association with the user's account, a reference associated with the media file may, depending upon the requirements of the rule, be placed into a temporary folder, from which the user may delete the reference or redirect it to his or her own, or another's, profile.

Abstract: The method allows a user to define groups of entities that will be queried automatically for Presence information by his wireless information device. The user, once he has selected the group to be queried, need do no more than select at one time a ‘Pinging’ function using an on-screen dialog or other menu, which initiates the automatic querying. There is no need to manually query each member of the group for its Presence information.

Abstract: In order to reduce the HS-SCCH overhead, a fixed time allocation approach could be used. In that case, the scheduling time of each VoIP user is semi-static and thus there is no need to transmit e.g. HS-SCCH toward the UE for the initial transmissions, if the UE knows when to receive data on the HS-DSCH and what transport format is used. There are at least two ways of implementing this: 1) HS-SCCH/E-DPCCH signalling to indicate parameters of a first transmission, with subsequent transmissions using the same parameters (and HS-SCCH/E-DPCCH always sent when changes needed), or 2) fixed allocation, RRC signalling used to allocate users and tell the default transport parameters.

Where multiple radios are used, power is minimised by avoiding using radios at the same time when those radios are likely to interfere with each other. Slots used by communication protocols can also be selected to maximise the time that the communications device can spend in lower power mode.

Abstract: Systems and methods for routing audio for audio-video recordings allow a user to record desired audio with captured video at the time the video is being captured. Audio from one or more sources may be routed to the video capture application and recorded with the video. In one or more examples, audio may be routed from another application, e.g., an audio playback application, running on the same device as the video capture application. In another example, audio may be received from a remote device through a wireless connection. Multiple streams of audio content may be mixed together prior to storing with video. The audio, upon reception, may then be routed to the video capture application for recordation. An audio progression bar may also be provided to indicate duration and elapsed time information associated with the audio being recorded.
