Publication number: 20140291312Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system and method of condensation of a steam flow produced in a cooking device. The condensation system and method provides a vent pipe configured to be non-linear for providing a path for the steam flow. The condensation system and method also provides a spray nozzle which is positioned to spray water in substantially in alignment with the path of the steam flow. The system and method of increases condensation of the steam flow within the vent pipe, and the condensed steam is drained from the cooking device, producing a minimal amount of steam that is vented outside of the cooking device. The system and method of the present disclosure provide higher efficiency of condensation of steam and an overall smaller amount of atmospheric venting of steam.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 1, 2013Publication date: October 2, 2014Applicant: Convotherm Elektrogeraete GmbHInventor: Gunter Wurdinger

Publication number: 20140028445Abstract: A system that provides notice of a lost signal. A wireless device and a control device employ radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, which uses radio frequency signals to communicate with one another via communication link having a reception range. The control device transmits a signal to the wireless device via the communication link. The wireless device responds by transmitting a return signal via the communication link. The control device processes the return signal to determine if the wireless device is within the reception range, if not, the control device provides an audible, written or visual alarm.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2012Publication date: January 30, 2014Applicant: CONVOTHERM ELEKTROGERAETE GMBHInventor: Convotherm Elektrogeraete GmbH

Publication number: 20130302483Abstract: Disclosed are cooking devices having inspection systems including: a distance sensor and a digital optical recognition device. The distance sensor detects the position of the food product placed in the cooking device and the digital optical recognition device captures a series of images for the purpose of food product recognition. Once the food product is recognized, the operator is provided with the correct cooking cycle/program for the position and type of food product placed in the cooking device. The inspection systems also ensure that the food product has been properly cooked at the end of the cooking cycle/program. The inspection systems ensure: (1) the food product is correctly recognized; (2) the cooking cycle/program is correctly selected; (3) the correct cooking cycle/program is followed to completion and (4) the quality of the cooked food product meets expected standards.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2013Publication date: November 14, 2013Applicant: Convotherm Elektrogeraete GMBHInventor: Lutz Riefenstein

Publication number: 20130192473Abstract: Disclosed is a valve arrangement which includes a housing having a first conduit having a first discharge cross-section, a second conduit having a second discharge cross-section, and at least one valve seat within the interior chamber of the housing having at least one valve seat opening which cooperates with at least one valve disc. The valve disc is moveable between a closed position seated on the valve seat opening, and an open position spaced apart from the valve seat opening. There can be also provided an actuator for moving the valve disc between the open and closed positions. The valve seat opening has a cross-section that is larger than the discharge cross-section of the first conduit and/or the discharge cross-section of the second conduit. The cross-section of the valve disc is greater than the valve seat opening.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2013Publication date: August 1, 2013Applicant: Convotherm Elektrogeraete GMBHInventors: Lutz Riefenstein, Guenter Wurdinger

Publication number: 20130146094Abstract: A cleaning agent/rinsing agent for cleaning a heating apparatus for cooking food are contained in a cartridge. The cartridge is sealed to prevent premature release of the cleaning/rinsing agents. Inside the cavity of the heating apparatus, a mechanism for opening the cartridge is located in the drain of the cavity of the heating apparatus. By pushing the cartridge onto the mechanism and twisting the cartridge, protruding edges of the mechanism penetrate the seal. Upon lifting the cartridge, the cleaning/rinsing agent drops out and into the cavity drain. The rinsing agent may be retained above the drain and cleaning box via encapsulation or the rinsing agent and configuration of the mechanism. The empty cartridge is removed and the cavity of the heating apparatus is ready for cleaning.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2012Publication date: June 13, 2013Applicant: CONVOTHERM ELEKTROGERAETE GMBHInventor: Convotherm Elektrogeraete GmbH

Patent number: 7017571Abstract: A heat exchanger device for a cooking appliance includes a burner arranged in a combustion chamber. The burner is connected by a feeding pipe to a mixing device which prepares a gas/air mixture necessary for the combustion and feeds it to the burner. The mixing device is connected to the burner in a gastight manner additional air is prevented from flowing in. The combustion chamber is formed by an enlargement of a heat exchanger pipe which, starting from the combustion chamber, spirally surrounds the fan wheel which provides forced circulation of the treatment medium. The heat exchanger pipe is also wound around the combustion chamber.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2003Date of Patent: March 28, 2006Assignee: Convotherm Elektrogeräte GmbHInventors: Stan Smits, Gerd Gumienny, Lutz Riefenstein

Patent number: 6662628Abstract: An asynchronous motor is used in the process for determining the proportion of a gas constituent, especially water vapor, contained in a gas mixture. The asynchronous motor drives a delivery device for circulating the gas mixture that is used for treating foodstuffs. The difference between the rotational speed, which occurs while the delivery device is driven, and the synchronous rotational speed, i.e. the slip, is used as a measure for the sought proportion of the gas constituent at respectively established pressure and temperature values of the gas mixture.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2002Date of Patent: December 16, 2003Assignee: Convotherm Elektrogeräte GmbHInventors: Jenö Horváth, Werner Schwarzbäcker

Patent number: 5657743Abstract: In a cooking device having a housing which can be closed by a door, a hinge support in the form of a slide or carriage is guided at one side wall so as to be displaceable at guide rails which are arranged horizontally at the side wall. One part of a hinge arrangement is fastened at the hinge support and the other part of the hinge arrangement is fastened to the door. The hinge support is guided at the guide rail by guide rollers which contact the guide rails in a positive engagement without play. In this way it is possible when opening the door to displace the same into a parallel position alongside the side wall.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1995Date of Patent: August 19, 1997Assignee: Convotherm Elektrogeraete GmbHInventors: Werner Schwarzbacker, Georg Pollinger
