Patents Assigned to Cookson Matthey Ceramics plc
  • Patent number: 6110632
Abstract: The present invention is directed to electrostatic printing toner particles comprising 71 to 90 weight percent of inorganic ceramic color and 29 to 10 weight percent of an organic polymeric material. A two-part developer comprising a carrier and the ceramic toner is characterized in that the ceramic toner is present in an amount of about 2 to 24 weight percent of the developer and the toner comprises 50 to 85 weight percent of the inorganic ceramic color and 50 to 15 weight percent of polymeric material. Typically, the ceramic color comprises a ceramic pigment and a glass frit.

  • Patent number: 5795940
Abstract: Colour concentrate pellets for pigmenting polyvinyl chloride are substantially all of diameter 0.1 to 3 mm and comprise pigment dispersed in a carrier comprising ethylene-vinyl acetate polymer which is ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and/or alloy thereof with polyethylene, the polymer having a vinyl acetate content of 13-28% by weight and a melt flow index (as measured by the method of ASTM D1238 using a 2.16 kg weight at 190.degree. C.) of 3.5-150 g/10 minutes, the pellets comprising at least 30% by weight of the pigment and at least 10% by weight of the polymer.

  • Patent number: 5753027
Abstract: A transparent hematite, useful as a pigmentary material, is in the form of particles consisting essentially in their lattice of oxygen, iron and another metal M, the other metal being selected from the group consisting of cobalt, nickel, manganese, zirconium, vanadium, lithium and copper, and being present in an atomic ratio to the iron of 0.01-0.5:1, and the width of the particles, as measured by transmission electron microscopy, being less than 0.03 micron.
